Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 Episode 6 is scheduled to release on Thursday, August 14, 2025, exclusively on Paramount+. The episode will continue from where Episode 5, titled 'Through the Lens of Time,' left off, a story that pulled the Enterprise crew into an alien ruin that turned out to be a time-warping prison for parasitic creatures. The crew discovered that the structure wasn’t meant for exploration but for containment.
Chapel, Spock, La’an, Korby, Uhura, and others were trapped inside separate time fields. Meanwhile, back on the Enterprise, Gamble, who was injured by an alien orb, was revealed to be possessed. He attacked multiple crew members, resulting in several deaths, before the entity inside him was expelled and trapped again.
Gamble died shortly after. M’Benga, devastated, informed Gamble’s family, unaware that the same alien symbols from the ruin had appeared on a screen behind him.
Episode 6 is expected to follow the fallout from Gamble’s death and the possible return of the parasitic threat. It may also explore the significance of Chapel’s connection to the alien tech and what Batel experienced while temporarily overtaken. The crew is now on alert, knowing the alien prison may have already started to fail.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 Episode 5 recap

Episode 5 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3, titled 'Through the Lens of Time,' begins with Ensign Gamble excited about finally joining an away mission. The Enterprise crew is sent to explore ancient ruins believed to be linked to resurrection or reincarnation.
Dr. Korby leads the research while Chapel, Spock, La’an, Uhura, and others accompany him to the surface. Chapel accidentally activates a scanner that opens the temple, and the team enters a multi-chambered structure that disables all communication and transport systems. While investigating, Gamble is struck in the face by a glowing orb, which severely burns out his eyes.
Back on the ship, M’Benga finds that Gamble’s body isn’t responding to treatment. Meanwhile, those still in the temple realize they have been separated across different timelines, not spaces. Gamble then wakes up and behaves strangely, revealing knowledge he shouldn’t have. He is possessed.
He kills a security officer, attacks Batel, and eventually holds Scotty, Pelia, and Sam Kirk hostage in engineering. M’Benga arrives and confronts him. During the standoff, Scotty manages to trap the parasitic entity inside Gamble back into an orb and beams it away.
Chapel leads the team out using a quantum bridge only she can activate. Gamble dies shortly after. M’Benga informs his family, unaware that the alien text has reappeared on a nearby console.
