This episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is titled “Four-And-A-Half-Vulcans” and begins with the crew members going to the planet of Permenti, which offers vacation. But, they get an emergency request from Vulcan. The planet of Tezaar, an ally of the Vulcans before the Federation was formed, needs its planet-wide nuclear energy system repaired.

However, Tezaar is a pre-warp drive society and a Federation intervening could violate the Prime Directive. Therefore, the Enterprise crew has to become Vulcans on a biological level and not violate the Prime directive. They use the Kerkhovian serum which was used to restore Spock’s Vulcan half and Pike, Uhura, La’an, and Chapel transform into Vulcans. Pelia also takes the serum but it does not have any effect on her.

The crew of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds goes to Tezaar with Spock and repairs the energy system but when they return to their ship, the serum does not change them back. The crew decides to let themselves be Vulcan as Vulcan chapel works on a cure and they leave for their vacation. However, things start to go wrong. On the other hand, Batel wants a dinner with Vice Admiral Pasak so that she can return to Starfleet Judicial Committee and Uhura has a date with Umberto and she does not like their pairing. The crew decides that they need to communicate with the Vulcans’ still-human inner selves and Spock isn’t able to do this himself and Doug is able to do it.

Further, La’an has now become a Romulan and she becomes aggressive and manipulative and wants to start a war with aliens. However, she is incapacitated by Krik and Scotty. Doug gets the crew in touch with their inner selves and restores Pike, Uhura, and Chapel to human form. Spock has to talk to La’an’s inner self and their fight turns into a dance. She realizes that she cares for Spock and goes back to being human.

Towards the end of the episode, Vice Admiral Pasak offers Batel the position of Starfleet Judicial Committee due to her honesty. Una gets back with Doug and encourages La’an to accept her feelings for Spock. Finally, Chapel and Spock also repair their friendship and Kirk and Scotty share a drink.
