The animated anthology series brings together animation studios from around the world and gives them a chance to bring to life original, non-canonical stories.Episode 7 of the second season, titled The Bandits of Golak, is one such episode of Star Wars: Visions. This episode was animated by an Indian animation studio, 88 Pictures, and directed by Ishaan Shukla. The episode features a fight scene between a Jedi and an Imperial Inquisitor, one that has found itself in the midst of a controversy.Lorenz Hideyoshi, a stunt double and a fan filmmaker, recently placed a 12-second video of his 2019 fan film Dark Jedi: A Star Wars Story side-by-side with the fight choreography from Star Wars: Visions Season 2 Episode 7. He went on to call out Disney for copying his fight choreography in its entirety. He claimed that even the camera angles were similar to his fan film's fight sequence.Hideyoshi went on to explain that while he does not own anything from the Star Wars IP itself, which is why the film was not monetized, he can easily prove that the action sequence was not reliant on the IP items he incorporated:"I mean they already had a different weapons setup, but still managed to brute force (push) my choreo onto that action. Didn’t even change the camera angles. Why Disney ? Is it because we made a non-profit tribute fan film of one of your IPs and now you feel justified in stealing from this pool of creative output?"The post has managed to gather a vast viewership, and most of the comments find Star Wars: Visions receiving a lot of backlash for the fight sequence.Star Wars: Visions recently premiered with nine more episodes for its third volume last month, and each episode has a non-canonical, self-contained story set in the franchise's universe. 88 Pictures did not return for this volume of episodes, but that can be because this season's core concept found the episodes in Japan, making the animation house an uneven fit.Keep following Soap Central for more such interesting updates!
