That movie had the concept of a ring-shaped equipment that opens wormholes between planets. It spawned Stargate SG-1 (1997), which ran for 10 successful seasons & won numerous Emmy nominations. It was followed by Stargate Atlantis (2005), a spin-off and a 5-season series.Stargate Universe returned two seasons later as part of the franchise, along with other projects, including animated series and web content. The central idea is the reconsideration of ancient deities as highly developed aliens who defined human history. This is a brilliant premise that enables the use of science fiction to explore the Egyptian, Norse, Celtic, and even other mythologies in Stargate. The creative team behind the new series View this post on Instagram Instagram PostMartin Gero has more than two decades of experience in television and an extensive background in the Stargate universe.
