Based on Emily St. John Mandel’s novel, Station Eleven is anchored by a cast that moves seamlessly a story across timelines, locations, and emotional aftermaths. From child actors and caregivers to artists, survivors, and leaders shaped by loss, each performance adds texture to the show’s exploration of memory, art, and survival.

From traveling Shakespeare troupes to airport survivors and cult leaders, here is who plays whom in Station Eleven, and where you may have seen them before.

Mackenzie Davis plays Kirsten Raymonde, who is a former child actor who survives the pandemic and later becomes a core member of the Traveling Symphony. Growing up, she performed Shakespeare across scattered settlement, and led Station Eleven as the protagonist.

You have seen Mackenzie Davis in Black Mirror’s “San Junipero,” Happiest Season, The Martian, Halt and Catch Fire, Blade Runner 2047 and Terminator: Dark Fate.

Jeevan Chaudhury starts off the show as a journalist attending a show of King Lear and meets Kristen after the lead actor dies during the show and he ends up being her protector, taking care of her throughout. His emotional bond with Kristen anchors Station Eleven, as she grows under his protection. The role earned Patel critical praise and an Emmy nomination.

Before this, he was seen on Tenet, Don't Look Up, Yesterday and Greedy People.

Clark Thompson is the former best friend of Arthur Leander, who is the actor who died playing in King Lear. Throughout the show, he leads a burnt out life, and becomes controlling and dictatorial. Even so, he is still one of the most intelligent characters of Station Eleven, and protects and leads the survivors at the Severn City airport.

Wilmot is known for his roles in films like Michael Collins, I Went Down, Intermission, The Guard and Anna Karenina.

Frank is Jeevan's brother, and offers them a place to stay in after the pandemic hits. He is a writer, who stayed far away from the world in his own space after suffering an injury and living with Jeevan and Kristen gives him a newer perspective on life.

The character is played by Nabhaan Rizwan, who is known for his roles in 1917, Mogul Mowgli, The Accident, Film Club and the critically acclaimed Kaos.

Zovatto's character is better known as The Prophet, as he leads a group of kidnapped and brainwashed children with a strange belief in violence against all ties to the pre-pandemic world. He is an antagonist, and is the son of the actor Arthur Leander.

Zovato's well known roles include Greg Hannigan in It Follows and Money in Don't Breathe, Jack in Fear the Walking Dead and Detective Vega in Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

Sarah, also known as The Conductor, is the co-leader of Traveling Symphony and has composed most of their shows. Her character is kind and enthusiastic, and mentors Kirsten as she works with her. Sarah offers some rare shreds of entertainment to a group of people who are struggling with the apocalyptic world.

Petty is known for her roles in Point Break, A League of Their Own, Free Willy, In the Army Now, The Glass Shield and Tank Girl.

Danielle Deadwyler as Miranda Carrol

Although Miranda does not appear on the show a lot, she is one of the most notable figures throughout as her artistic legacy forms the very backbone of Station Eleven. She is Arthur's first wife, although their marriage broke down because of her isolation and his infidelity. After her grief, she goes on to write the graphic novel Station Eleven, which becomes the titular presence and the core of the show.

Deadwyler is known for his work on the films A Cross to Bear, The Harder They Fall, Till, and The Piano Lesson, along with television and miniseries appearances in The Haves and the Have Nots, P-Valley, and From Scratch.

Arthur Leander might not be the most important character on the show, but his death affects most characters on Station Eleven and is the beginning of the end. A stage actor, he dies of a heart attack while performing King Lear. He was also previously married to Miranda, and is unfaithful to her, which leads to her grieving stage.

Bernal's notable works include Amores perros, Y tu mamá también, Bad Education, The Motorcycle Diaries, Babel, Coco, Old, Cassandro, and Magellan, along with television appearances in Mozart in the Jungle and the Disney+ special Werewolf by Night.
