If you have been craving some really good sports comedy series after watching Ted Lasso, then tune in to Stick, the newly released show with a similar theme but a fresh and unique story. It centers around Pryce Cahill, a former pro golfer whose career and personal life have fallen apart after a public meltdown and a painful loss.

Now divorced and working selling golf clubs, Pryce drifts through life with little direction. Things start to turn for him when he befriends Santi Wheeler, a talented yet hesitant teenage golf prodigy. Pryce chooses to coach him with the hopes of having success and an opportunity to start to redirect his life.

As they continue on this journey, Pryce has to remember the terrible choices he made in the past, and reconnects with a few important people, including Santi's protective mother Elena and Zero, a clubhouse worker who decided to travel with Pryce and Santi to golf tournaments in Stick Episode 3.

Stick's third episode delves deeper into the relationships between the main characters, particularly as they travel to Santi Wheeler's first golf tournament. While Pryce Cahill is the coach and a struggling golfer, Santi is the young and gifted player. Viewers also meet Elena, Santi's protective mother, and Mittsy, who is Pryce's old friend and former caddie, as all travel together in an RV.

The journey isn't easy, though. Elena and Mittsy, who don't get along, become more tense. Elena decides to spend the night at a motel because she finds the small RV uncomfortable, which irritates Mittsy and heightens the group's discomfort.

The two have disliked each other since the beginning, and Pryce has been trying to keep them calm. He suggested playing some icebreakers as well, but no one seemed interested.

Despite Pryce's attempts to lighten the tone with his speech, the tension is still high in Stick Episode 3. Once the tournament begins, Pryce tries to control Santi and expects him to follow everything he teaches him.

Santi begins well enough but ultimately wears down, particularly in the first half of the game. Pryce's coaching begins to feel more severe and harshly critical, similar to Santi's abusive father. Since the youngster didn't expect this from Pryce, he blew up.

Pryce's actions triggered the trauma Santi had endured from his father, leading him to lash out. This intense moment in the episode highlights how old wounds influence his present challenges.

Zero's role in Stick Episode 3: A fresh influence on Santi

This episode introduces a new character named Zero. She is a rebel who isn't afraid to speak her mind and has recently quit her job at the golf club. Zero asks Santi why he has allowed Pryce to push him around with both his demands and pressures, and encourages him to rely on his own instincts and way of playing golf.

Zero tells him not to let Pryce take "extreme ownership" of his gift. Santi tells her that the back nine is still not over, and this is when Zero tells him to show what he's got and doesn't need Pryce's strict rules to win.

This helps Santi find belief in himself to calm his mind and support changes in everything. Santi improves dramatically on the back nine holes and ultimately wins the tournament.

Zero didn't just fill hope inside Santi, but she also showed him a way to tackle stress and pressure. During the tournament, Pryce also noticed how well Santi played when motivated the right way.

Santi's win stunned everyone at the tournament, including his opponent. As the Stick Episode 3 nears its end, Pryce apologises to Santi for talking to him that way, but all Santi had to say was "F*** off, Pryce" and heads out to celebrate with Zero.

When Pryce asks who that woman is, a man from behind tells him, "that's trouble," suggesting Zero is quite different from others. Meanwhile, Mittsy is battling his own emotional challenge.

When he gets stuck under the RV bed, he lets his tough act drop for a moment and shows how much he’s hurting inside. After some tense moments with Elena, they agree to keep things peaceful.
