The Stranger Things world has been one of the most inviting worlds, full of the most beautiful characters. For a decade, we as an audience have watched these characters grow up into the wonderful and strong human beings they are in the final season of the show.

It can be difficult for us as the audience to pick a favorite character out of the Hawkins gang, and even more so for the creators who've developed these characters from the very start and brought them to life in the Stranger Things world.

Turns out, however, the Duffer brothers do happen to have a favorite character, and one would think that it's Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown. Instead, it's an unexpected character that they love the most.

The Stranger Things finale season is less than two weeks away, and if the cast and crew are to be believed, the audience is not at all ready for the blockbuster finale season we have ahead of us. The thing making this release even more exciting is the added part of it being the final season, making goodbyes imminent.

The cast, including Millie Bobby Brown and Sadie Sink, have been extremely vocal about how difficult it was to film the final season, which had a multitude of lasts for them. In a recent conversation with GQ Thailand, creators Matt and Ross Duffer revealed the one character they would want to say goodbye to out of all the characters in the show.

One would expect that this character would be Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, as she is the protagonist. However, the creators Matt and Ross Duffer went on to reveal that, given the chance, they would like to say goodbye to Mike Wheeler, played by Finn Wolfhard.

The brothers explain that the reason behind this is the fact that Mike was the first character that they had created. For them, Mike's character was a representation of themselves at that age, allowing them to relive their childhood for a whole decade through this character,

"It’s hard. It’s like picking a favourite, we love all of them. If I had to choose one, it would be Mike, because when we wrote the show, Mike became a stand-in for the version of Matt and me at that age. I don’t know exactly what we’d say to him, but I’d thank him. He allowed us to relive our childhoods in a way. I miss that time so much, and this show gave us a chance to escape back into it and play for a full decade. We’re really grateful."

In the fourth season, Will Byers calls Mike Wheeler the heart of their group, the one who leads them and keeps them all together. It appears the creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer brothers, had a special reason behind handing this distinction over to Finn's character.
