Joyce's desperate attempt to contact Will in Stranger Things Season 1 Episode 3

Stranger Things Season 1 Episode 3 starts off with Barb trying to escape from a dark and dangerous place where she finds herself after waking up. However, before she is able to escape, she is dragged back inside. Nancy returns to her house after spending the night with Steve. The next morning, Jonathan wakes up hearing the voices of his mother.

He then finds her trying to speak with Will through the lights. He understands that his mother is suffering because of Will’s disappearance. She is not able to accept the truth. Mike, Lucas, and Dustin discuss El and what to do with her. They prepare for their travel, with Lucas bringing in a wrist rocket and Dustin bringing snacks.

Back at school, Nancy gets worried as she thinks everyone keeps looking at her. After she goes to her class, she finds that Barb is not there. Hopper and his deputy visit the Hawkins Laboratory. Initially, he gets stopped by the security as he does not have a clearance.

However, eventually he is allowed, and he begins to check the area. He asks for the camera footage, but does not find anything there. Hopper understands that the lab tampered with the footage, as it rained on the night Will disappeared.

They then go to the library to find out more about the laboratory. While going through the news, he finds out about the many experiments that Dr. Brenner was involved with. As the episode of Stranger Things Season 1 progresses, El begins to get bored waiting to meet Mike and others.

She begins to explore the house. While watching the TV, she begins to get a flashback about Dr. Brenner. On the other hand, Joyce begins to fix fairy lights all across the house to speak to Will. Right then, Karen arrives to give her emotional support. However, thinking Karen would be disrupting the situation, Joyce asks her to leave.

As this episode of Stranger Things progresses, another flashback is shown where El kills two orderlies of Dr. Brenner because they were hurting her. The extent of El’s true power can be seen through this scene. Nancy begins to worry about Barb as she is not able to find her anywhere.

She goes to Steve’s house to see if Barb is there, but she does not find anything. Back at Joyce’s house, Joyce begins to see the lights she put up begin to flicker. She understands that it is Will trying to contact her. Will tells her that he is alive but is not safe.

At the end of this episode of Stranger Things, Joyce writes letters on the walls so that Will is able to properly communicate through the lights. However, instead of telling Joyce his location, he tells her to run.

Right at that moment, a wall breaks open and a dangerous creature comes out. On the other hand, the police pull Will’s dead body out of the water. At the end, the stage is set up with multiple confusions regarding the dangers that lurk in Hawkins.
