Dustin, still wearing his Ghostbusters costume, returns home. En route, he discovers a slimy creature lurking in a trash can. Thinking it is a new and fascinating species, he names it D’Artagnan, or Dart, and feeds it a Three Musketeers candy bar. The creature is reactive to light, but Dustin is highly fascinated by the creature and decides to keep it.The new pet’s addition looks cute, but it will have ripple effects in the town of Hawkins. The duo, Hopper and Eleven, try to live in the late grandfather’s cabin. Stern rules are put in place. Rather than alerting adults, Dustin hides the creature under his cap, clinging to his bond with it despite the clear danger.Nancy is struggling with Barb’s death, and decides to tell Barb’s mother to know the truth. But the call is being monitored by Hawkins Laboratory operatives.
