Stranger Things Season 5 Episode 2 starts right after the premiere. It goes back to the Wheeler house as danger comes for Holly. A Demogorgon bursts through the ceiling of her bedroom. It tries to drag Holly into the Upside Down.

Holly holds onto her bed frame and escapes. She runs to the bathroom where her mother, Karen, is about to bathe. The lights flicker, and blood appears on Holly. Karen tries to calm her. The Demogorgon breaks into the bathroom.

Karen and Holly hide underwater during a tense struggle. The creature is about to strike, but Ted arrives and distracts it. Ted is thrown through the wall. Karen and Holly run away.

Downstairs, another portal opens. As they try to escape, Karen stabs the Demogorgon with a broken wine bottle. The scene ends with Karen badly hurt, and Holly is taken by the creature.

In Stranger Things Season 5 Episode 2, Eleven immediately follows the Demogorgon into the Upside Down. Hopper goes with her because he worries about her safety. Eleven helps Hopper with his injuries, using skills Max taught her. They follow a trail of blood. It leads to a huge wall made of Upside Down material. Outside the wall, Eleven finds one of Holly’s shoes. This shows the Demogorgon has taken Holly further than they can reach.

In the real world, Will Byers’ link to the Upside Down grows stronger. After being freed from the Mind Flayer, his powers are stronger now. He can sense Vecna and his minions. He can even see through their eyes and know what they are doing.

Will warns Nancy and Mike about the Demogorgon attack. They rush to the Wheeler house, but are too late. Holly is kidnapped. Will thinks his powers work like an antenna. They let him tap into Vecna’s hive mind and track the monster.

In Stranger Things Season 5 Episode 2, Dustin is missing after bullies beat him for wearing a Hellfire T-shirt. Jonathan takes over Dustin’s duties. The group realizes that Vecna’s influence is spreading, and Holly has become his new target.

Holly has been seeing a mysterious figure she calls Mr. Whatsit. He is like an imaginary friend inspired by A Wrinkle in Time. He warns her about monsters in Hawkins.

The group’s investigation is on. Mike and Nancy visit Karen in the hospital. She is awake but cannot speak because of throat injuries. Using a pen and a clipboard, Karen confirms that Holly was taken. She also says that Mr. Whatsit is Henry Creel.

Henry Creel is Vecna in human form. He is keeping Holly at the rebuilt Creel family mansion in the Upside Down.

In the chaos, Lucas talks to Max. He explains the situation and tells her to join the fight. He warns that Vecna’s plans are already happening. At the same time, in Stranger Things Season 5 Episode 2, Will and Robin test his “human antenna” powers in the woods.

They see visions that show more about Vecna’s actions. They learn that Holly’s experiences are like what Will faced in Season 1. This shows that Vecna targets vulnerable children to gain control.

Stranger Things Season 5 Episode 2 ends with Henry Creel/Vecna talking to Holly. He tells her friends and family will be safe as they enter his lair. This sets up the next big conflict.
