Gear up, D&D fans, because you can now enjoy the Stranger Things Season 5 finale on the big screen. Netflix has confirmed that the final chapter of the Duffer Brothers sci-fi saga will be streamed in 500+ movie theatres across the US and Canada starting December 31, 2025.

Seasoned fans can experience the Hawkins gang's final adventure on the big screen with an army of other Stranger Things fans. With this, the streamer has also confirmed that the Stranger Things Season 5 finale will officially run for 2 hours and 5 minutes.

The Duffer Brothers first expressed their desire to experience the final chapter on the big screen. However, Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria initially confirmed that the finale will not be screened in theatres. But thanks to loyal Stranger Things fans, they strongly stood with the creators and forced the platform to change its decision.

The final season has already kicked off on Netflix with Volume 1 (four episodes) on November 26. Volume 2 (three episodes) is arriving on Christmas and you can enjoy the series finale in theaters now.

Here are all the details about the Stranger Things Season 5 finale screening.

Stranger Things Season 5 finale to be streamed in 500+ theatres across the US and Canada

The Stranger Things Season 5 finale will be screened in 500+ movie theatres across the US and Canada, starting from December 31 at 5 p.m. PT to January 1. The complete list of participating theatres and the instructions on how to RSVP can be found here.

According to Variety, the movie theaters will not sell tickets to the screening but rather concession vouchers that will confirm a seat for the fans. This also implies that theater owners will retain 100% of the revenue generated from the screening and Netflix is approaching it as a promotional event.

Fans are already celebrating the Stranger Things Season 5 finale screening and RSVP-ing to enjoy the final chapter of the hit sci-fi series. In an interview with Netflix Tudum, the Duffer Brothers expressed their gratitude after this news as

“We’re beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of Stranger Things in theaters — it’s something we’ve dreamed about for years, and we’re so grateful to Ted, Bela, and everyone at Netflix for making it happen.''

They added:

“Getting to see it on the big screen, with incredible sound, picture, and a room full of fans, feels like the perfect — dare we say bitchin’ — way to celebrate the end of this adventure.”

The final season of Stranger Things marks the return of Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Natalia Dyer, Sadie Sink, Jamie Campbell Bower, and many more familiar faces.

Stranger Things Season 5 Part 1 saw the Hawkins gang reunite to search for Vecna, as he suspiciously retreated to the Upside Down. However, things got sinister as the anniversary of Will Byers' disappearance approached and Vecna abducted Holly Wheeler and her classmates into his dreamscape.

With Eleven, Hopper, and many of the main characters stuck in the Upside Down, things were looking difficult for our protagonists, but Will Byers' connection to Vecna's hive mind gave him shocking telekinetic powers in the final moments of Episode 4, which will surely change the course of the narrative in the finale.

Tune in to Stranger Things Season 5 Part 2 on Christmas on Netflix. Grab a seat to enjoy the series finale on December 31 in your nearby theater now.
