Stranger Things fans are probably vibrating with impatience for Season 5. The hype is ramping up every time the cast drops a little tidbit from behind the scenes.

Now, Millie Bobby Brown, aka Eleven herself, has been spilling some of the best tea lately. Imagine playing the same psychic, nose-bleeding girl for over ten years. Millie says she has been trying to keep things fresh, which apparently meant tossing out what she called “insane” ideas on set.

Millie sat down with Noah Schnapp on Jake’s Takes and just let loose about messing around with Eleven’s classic moves. Apparently, she even pitched an idea to throw in a kick with her telekinesis. Her team was not having it, though.

Anyway, fans are finally getting a peek behind the curtain to see how much work and random ideas go into making Eleven the legend she is, especially now that Stranger Things is heading for its big finish.

During the interview, Noah Schnapp and Millie Bobby Brown were asked how they manage to keep their performances from going stale, because playing the same person for years might get old. The interviewer zeroed in on Eleven’s classic moves, pointing out those dramatic telekinetic hand gestures. Did they ever just run out of new ideas and accidentally repeat themselves?

Millie, being Millie, didn’t hide it. She cracked up and told this story about once pitching a “kick” to spice up Eleven’s powers. She was totally game to try anything to keep it interesting, especially with the last season rolling around.

Speaking with Jake’s Takes, Millie revealed:

“It actually happened to me this season. I thought, ‘Do I throw a little kick? I don’t know.’ I was like, ‘Could it be a kick?’ and everyone was like, ‘Millie, you’ve gone insane, it’s been 10 years. Don’t kick.’ And I’m like, ‘But what if it is?’ They’re like, ‘Stop pitching it, it’s not working.’ So, yeah, you’re not wrong. You start to go a little bit insane.”

In another interview with PEOPLE, Millie admitted the show didn’t just teach her how to act, but also how to be a decent human and a solid friend. Talking about the final season, she was hyping it up as an action-packed adventure where, for once, every single character gets their chance to shine.

“I'm so honored and blessed to have been a part of this show for so many years, and for my childhood to have been recorded. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

She added:

“Everybody is really put into the thick of it. No one is sitting back on a walkie-talkie. Everyone is full throttle, going for it.”

Moreover, at the For Your Consideration event, she let slip that she went full action hero for Season 5. Millie mentioned she was channeling Tom Cruise and hinted that what we will see in Stranger Things Volume 1 is just the warm-up, and she is excited for everyone to watch what’s next.

Millie was quoted as saying by The Hollywood Reporter:

“It was really exciting to be more of a resource this season, not just because of her powers but also her physical training and attributes that she’s put herself through. It was really fun, I definitely channeled my inner Tom Cruise. I feel like Volume 1 only touches on what she's been training for, and I'm really excited for everyone to see what that leads to.”

Stranger Things Season 5 release and anticipation

Stranger Things Season 5 is rolling out on Netflix in three separate chunks. They are dropping the first four episodes on November 26, 2025. Then, in the middle of the holidays, we get three more episodes on December 25. The final episode lands on January 1, 2026.

They are definitely milking the suspense with a slow burn release. But it will keep the hype running and social media absolutely feral between drops. And with only eight episodes, some of them being movie-length, they are not holding back on the drama.

By the end of Stranger Things Season 4, everything was blown to bits: Max got absolutely wrecked by Vecna, and she is left stuck in a coma while Eleven is out here scrambling to save what is left of her. The squad manages to smack Vecna around a bit, but he is not done, just kind of… slithered off into the shadows. Hawkins remains a total disaster zone with giant cracks everywhere and the Upside Down leaking in.

Eddie Munson goes full hero mode, Hopper and Joyce escape from Russia (finally), and Eleven and Hopper have this sweet, emotional moment. But then there is that sky at the end, all red and creepy, signalling we are not done here, not even close.

Stranger Things Season 4 also lobbed a bunch of new mysteries at us. What is really up with the Upside Down? Why does it look like some twisted, broken snapshot of Hawkins? Eleven’s powers, where do they actually come from?

The series even showed a bunch of flashbacks linking characters’ backstories to all the top-secret government “activities.” Eleven’s whole deal with her “lost sister” is still murky, and her family background is basically a black hole. And let’s not forget Will, he can’t catch a break with a creepy connection to the Upside Down.

Stranger Things Season 5 is supposed to be the big finish, the final showdown, and the last hurrah. Fandom is excited to see if they will finally spill the beans about the Upside Down. Like, is it just some creepy shadow of our world, or did it exist before humans even showed up? Or maybe it’s something we haven’t even thought of yet, some crazy dimension that will melt our brains. There is a lot of talk about whether these worlds can actually exist side by side.

As Ross Duffer said in an interview with SFX magazine:

“This really is the end of the story of Eleven and Mike and Lucas and Dustin and Steve and all these characters, and Hawkins specifically. There’s not really anything else worth exploring. The book is closed, and the ending wouldn’t be very impactful if we left it cracked open for some sort of sequel.”

He added:

“You don’t want to do something in 20 years where a bunch of characters are like, ‘Oh, we better get Mike back, he knew how to handle this!' That’s not what we’re interested in. We’re being very careful to make sure nothing that we’re doing is going to step on that.”

Half the Stranger Things fandom is probably stressing about Max. Is her soul in the Upside Down, or what? And we haven’t even settled the Vecna/Mind Flayer situation. Those two have been looming over Hawkins, so it’s about time they get their comeuppance.

Then you have the main crew: Eleven, Mike, Will, Hopper, Joyce, the whole gang. People want actual closure this time, emotional payoff, something that will maybe end with a little ugly crying and some hugs.

A lot is riding on this last season of Stranger Things. Fingers crossed they stick the landing, or at least leave us with some epic moments to argue about online for the next decade. If Season 5 doesn’t give us answers, there are going to be a lot of angry memes.
