To lure the children into Upside Down, he used the famous character (Mrs. Whatsit) from Madeleine L’Engle’s Award-winning novel, A Wrinkle in Time and posed as their friend and protector. Mr. Whatsit appeared even to many of Holly's classmates, who claimed that he would save them from monsters. In Stranger Things Season 5 Part 1, Mr. Whatsit became another symbol for Vecna to manipulate his next targets and earn their trust. His Mr. Whatsit persona appeared in a dark brown suit, a hat and a pocket watch.More on this in our story.Stranger Things Season 5 Part 1: Exploring Henry Creel's connection to Mr. Whatsit View this post on Instagram Instagram PostIt was only after the Demogorgon attack at the Wheeler house in Stranger Things Season 5 Episode 2, which landed Mike's parents at the hospital and Holly in the Upside Down, that Mike realized that Mr. Whatsit might be real.
