Character fate of Murray in Stranger Things Season 5
From bringing in crucial items for the group’s expeditions, as can be seen throughout the series, to being the constant source of humor with a touch of sarcasm, Murray’s presence in Stranger Things Season 5, especially in the final episode, is undeniable.
He is always the person the group can look forward to as someone who always comes up with a solution to the troubles. In the final episode, as Hopper, El, and Kali are in the process of taking down Vecna, Murray stays on the rooftop, keeping an eye on the dangers and making sure El is able to get the signals properly. However, their plan faces a setback when Robert Akers and his friends arrive at their location and begin to attack Hopper, El, and Kali.
Through a helicopter, they also use the Kryptonite satellite so that Kali and El are not able to move. Hopper is somehow able to take El to safety, but is not able to carry Kali with him. Kali is left behind and then is caught by Robert’s teammates. Right then, Hopper begins to shoot from a hidden location, almost killing everyone else.
As the Kryptonite sound kept on playing from the helicopter, neither El nor Kali could protect themselves. Murray then decides to blast off the helicopter by throwing grenades towards it. His prompt decision helped El to stop the group; however, Kali gets shot by Robert Akers during the blast, causing her to bleed profusely.
After the team is finally able to defeat Vecna and the Mindflayer, they hop on the truck right after Murray sets the timer for the bomb, which would eventually destroy the bridge. The blast causes the bridge to close. It leads to Hawkins finally being saved from imminent destruction. At the very end of the finale in Stranger Things Season 5, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will, and Max prepare for their graduation. At the graduation ceremony, Murray sits beside Mr. Clarke. He cheers for the graduating members.
From his first appearance till the very last moment in the series, Murray’s constant support in the group’s life truly leaves an impact. He faced multiple challenges, especially during his journey to save Hopper while watching Alexei die. Despite the multiple challenges, he maintains a distinct level of positivity, which came in handy for the team.
