Since its premiere back in 2016, Stranger Things has officially been a part of our world for almost a decade now. The cast and crew behind Netflix's global hit have been together working on the show for a long time. With the fifth and final season approaching, everyone is already bracing themselves for an emotional goodbye.
Although details about the new season have been kept under wraps, in a recent conversation with Screen Rant, Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas Sinclair, opened up about his experience during the last days of the shoot.
Caleb McLaughlin on saying goodbye to Lucas Sinclair and Stranger Things

Caleb McLaughlin, now 23, was 14 when the first season of Stranger Things premiered in the summer of 2016. During the interview, McLaughlin spoke about his overly emotional experience with wrapping up the character who has been his identity for the better part of a decade. He shared:
'It's been a blessing. Genuinely. It's truly insane of how long it's been. It's like 10 years I've been on the show. I've known the cast and crew for so long, and they're my family. And last year, of course, the last day I was like, "I'm not going to cry. I'm not going to cry." And then ended up just bawling, man. Ten years of just love, laughter and sadness and peace.'
Caleb reveals how he has had a lot of time to process these emotions about the upcoming finale, and even though it was very emotional, he feels extremely blessed and happy about being a part of the iconic show and for all the love that the show continues to get. He reveals how being in this show was his childhood dream, and watching people bond with Stranger Things, and using it to cope with their experiences, has been the most gratifying experience for him.
"I've done the show for so long, for, of course, myself and my love of art and TV, and this was my childhood dream, but this has been a lot of people's childhood experience, and it's gotten people past a lot of their trauma or things that they've experienced, and they watch the show and it's helped them escape, you know what I mean? It's helped them see a different way to life and finding new friends and believing in friendship and believing in people. And I can't ask for a better just opportunity or ask for a better experience or ask for anything better that I've been a part of. So I just feel great. I feel great."
McLaughlin's experience with wrapping up Stranger Things Season 5 is all the hint that we need to know that this season is going to be an exceptionally emotional farewell, to say the least.
