With Stranger Things in its last season, the actors who have grown up with the show are experiencing a sense of nostalgia, thankfulness, and transition. To the fans, Stranger Things Season 5 is not only the end of a big production, but also the end of an era, and what has been a significant portion of the lives of the cast over several years. Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery and Charlie Heaton talked about their experience of saying goodbye to the series in a recent interview with Sky News.

Although it is a touching moment, all three appear to be ready to accept that the story must come to an end. They do not struggle with it, but they realize that it is natural to complete the show. They have, in the last 10 years, changed a lot as actors as well as individuals on set, while developing their roles and bringing the crazy escapades of Hawkins to life.

They are glad that the show can finally come to an end in the fashion the creators intended, however, they are also upset to part with a world and a team they have so greatly adored. The candid responses they give to each other also bring Stranger Things to a more real and personal end. Three episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 drops on 25 December, 2025 on Netflix, and the final one on December 31, 2025.

What did the cast say about Stranger Things' ending

Being one of the original teen cast members who remained on the show till the very end, Natalia Dyer feels quite positive about Stranger Things' ending and what it means for her character’s long journey in the show. She is grateful to have been involved in something so significant when she talks about the Stranger Things Season 5 ending.

In the cast interview, it is apparent to note that Dyer and her fellow co-stars, Joe Keery and Charlie Heaton, are proud to have worked on a series that resonated with millions of people. They hope fans will be “as satisfied as” them with the finale.

Yet there is some sweet nostalgia also. Dyer believes that the conclusion of Stranger Things Season 5 is not merely the completion of a task, it is also the completion of a giant chapter of her life.

Much of her early life was spent with the Hawkins world, and the end takes her back to the late-night sets, her long-time friendships, and all the personal and artistic development she gained on the way. Although it is not easy to say goodbye, her remarks reveal that she has been appreciative of all she got out of the show and is now willing to proceed into the next phase of life.

Although the Stranger Things Season 5 finale is a literal farewell to the show, for Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, and Charlie Heaton, it serves as the beginning of something new as well. By admitting that the show is coming to an end, they are letting go of the comfort and familiarity they had known over the years and are entering the unknown not only career-wise, but in their lives in general. They do not view the ending as something sorrowful or empty, but rather as an opportunity to grow and transform, and find new opportunities outside of the world of Hawkins, which is why they discuss it in this manner.

Their positive attitude and calmness could also reassure the fans. If the actors who lived and breathed these characters are okay about the ending, perhaps viewers can be as well. Still the feelings are mixed, there is nostalgia, sadness, and relief, but there is also hope. It’s the feeling of moving forward.
