After HBO Max greenlit Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, the third spin-off series from the TBBT universe, after Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, a plot detail has got the fans excited.
The spin-off series is co-written by The Big Bang Theory creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, along with The Avengers' screenwriter Zak Penn.
Kevin Sussman, TBBT's awkward comic book store owner Stuart, will reprise his character in Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, who will be tasked with restoring reality along with other TBBT alums Denise (Lauren Lapkus), Bert (Brian Posehn), and Barry (John Ross Bowie).
A new plot detail confirms that the spin-off series will feature the multiverse version of The Big Bang Theory characters.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe: The spin-off to feature 'multiverse' version of The Big Bang Theory characters
With every new detail emerging about the plot of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, loyal TBBT fans are excited to learn whether the actors from the parent series will pop up in the new spin-off series.
The Big Bang Theory, which ran for 12 seasons, followed the lives of socially awkward scientists, Sheldon (Jim Parsons), Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Raj (Kunal Nayyar), Howard (Simon Helberg), and a waitress, Penny (Kaley Cuoco).
While fans are excited to learn which TBBT actors can return in Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, new plot details suggest that the spin-off will feature the multiverse version of the original characters.
According to the official synopsis, the spin-off show will be set after the events of The Big Bang Theory, where Stuart Bloom gets his hands on a device built by Sheldon and Leonard. After he accidentally breaks the device and unleashes a multiverse Armageddon, he will be tasked to restore the reality with the help of Denise, Bert, and Barry.
While Stuart Fails to Save the Universe suggests that things will not go well for the awkward comic book store owner, the spin-off show will feature a multiverse version of the TBBT characters and Stuart and his gang will likely meet them in their adventure.
It is still not confirmed whether the original actors will play the multiverse version of their The Big Bang Theory characters. However, since Stuart's multiverse Armageddon will be brought about by Sheldon and Leonard's device, the spin-off will likely feature Parsons and Galecki, even if in guest capacities.
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe will be unlike any other TBBT spin-off
The first official sequel to TBBT, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, already has some big shoes to fill. It is also the most experimental series in the universe, which makes the job harder.
Discussing the plot details with Entertainment Weekly, Lorre said:
"I wanted to do something radical that would take me out of my comfort zone. Something the characters on The Big Bang Theory, would have loved, hated, and argued about."
Prady added:
''Putting characters we loved from The Big Bang Theory into a complex science fiction story with the kind of mythology that those characters love while maintaining the comedic elements is incredibly satisfying."
In addition to Lorre and Prady, the addition of Penn as one of the co-writers suggests that the spin-off will be unlike any from the TBBT universe.
Penn's experience with projects like The Avengers and X-Men: The Last Stand suggests that the upcoming show will have a mythology and superhero element very different from the parent series.
