Sully's new love interest in Sullivan's Crossing comes with a TV legacy, find out who

All ten episodes of Sullivan's Crossing Season 3 rolled out this Monday, August 11, 2025, on Netflix in the US. And guess what, Season 3 introduced us to a new character, and this time it's Sully's new love interest, Helen Culver, an accomplished author who arrived in Sullivan's Crossing for a much-needed break.

Helen Culver is portrayed by the popular, legendary actress Kate Vernon. You might know her as Lorraine Prescott from CBS's soap opera Falcon Crest or as Sophia from Malcom X (1992). She was born in Toronto in 1961, and her father is the popular star John Keith Vernon (Animal House, Dirty Harry, and Point Blank). Some of her notable works include Pretty in Pink, Battlestar Galactica, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and A Gettysburg Christmas, to name a few.

Apart from these, she is also slated to play Eve in a horror project called The God of Frogs. She was in a relationship with Three Dog Night's lead vocalist Charles Negron II, and they have a daughter named Anabelle Negron.

Sullivan's Crossing Season 3: Meet Helen Culver, Sully's new love interest

Helen appeared in all ten episodes of Sullivan's Crossing Season 3, establishing her as an important character.

Helen rented a cabin at the Crossing and eventually crossed paths with Sully. However, they did have a rocky start. Sully messed up her booking due to the new digitized system; she then complained about the floorboards and faulty plumbing. Slowly, they bonded over shared interests such as bird watching and yoga, and eventually became good friends.

Season 3 explored their dynamic as Helen helped him find his way forward after overcoming the life-and-death situation in the Season 2 finale. She helped Sully to heal not just physically but mentally as well. She inspired him to become a better father and start afresh. This brought them quite close to each other, and Sully even proposed a ballroom dance.

The confession, however, came when Helen learned that a production house was eager to adapt her book-but the catch? She had to relocate to Ireland. As she packed her bag and was about to leave, her heart ached for Sully. She asked him to accompany her. When Sully refused, Helen poured her heart out and confessed her true feelings for him. Helen revealed that she wanted to give their relationship a chance. Sully agreed to travel to Ireland with her, marking a start to their relationship.

"I know you've been hurt before, and I realize that leaving the crossing is a very big step for you. But you were right, Sully. We do owe it to ourselves to see if this relationship to go. Isn't it time to stop being afraid and start living your life again?"

However, Sullivan's Crossing Season 3 finale ended on a cliffhanger. Helen and Sully decided to join her on a trip to Ireland. Thus, Sully moving to Ireland would mean that he might no longer be the head of the campground. Whether they will return to Sullivan's Crossing or not remains a mystery that needs to be addressed in the upcoming seasons.
