HBO released the promo for All Roads, the fourth episode of Task. It seems that Tom is on the hunt for the robbers who are targeting Dark Hearts' drug houses. The promo also teases that at some point, Sam supposedly goes missing. The walls seem to be closing in on Robbie as Cliff has been identified by not only Tom Brandis' team but also the Dark Hearts.
Thus, both Robbie and Tom have their plates full as pressure builds against them from different sides. Robbie and Cliff have to look over their shoulder as danger continues to build over them, while Tom's personal life has been through the ringer ever since his wife, Susan, was killed by his adopted son, Ethan, during a psychological breakdown. Moreover, Tom has to keep a closer eye on his task force agents, who may not be that honest.

What happens in this week's Task episode?
Nobody's Stronger Than Forgiveness, the third episode of Task, aired on September 21, 2025. This episode moved the plot forward as Lizzie and Aleah learn Cliff's identity through one of Peaches' coworkers. As that happens, Cliff and Robbie visit an old cellmate of his, Ray, to help them move their fentanyl without the drug kingpin Freddy Frias' help, who is going to help the Dark Hearts.
Ray suggests the name of Lee Whitehead, someone who is frequently associated with Colombian kingpins. However, Ray and his wife, Shelley, break into Cliff's house to steal the fentanyl and make money off it. However, they are arrested by Tom and his team, who had arrived at Cliff's home when the two had broken in to arrest him. They use Ray's phone to message Cliff to meet them in a park, where the team plans to arrest him.
However, Tom also learns that one of his team's agents might not be as honest as the show has been portraying them to be, as the Dark Hearts have also learned about Cliff's identity.
"As Cliff and Robbie look for a buyer, Aleah and Lizzie question Peaches' former coworkers, and Tom and Grasso pursue a lead."
What do we know about the HBO series?
The HBO series follows FBI agent Tom Brandis and an unassuming family man, Robbie, who is secretly a criminal. Brandis is tasked by the FBI to head a team that's responsible for bringing an undetected group of three that rob drug houses for money.
"Set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, an FBI agent (Mark Ruffalo) heads a Task Force to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man (Tom Pelphrey)."
After the release of the first episode, series creator Brad Ingelsby also revealed that this HBO series exists in the same universe as his other show, Mare of Easttown, which was on the same network:
“I think there were still more stories to be told about people in Delaware County. They exist in the same world, so it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Mare (played by Kate Winslet) walked into a Wawa that Tom (played by Ruffalo) was in. I don’t have a story in mind that’s a crossover, but I love the idea of their worlds intersecting.”
Three episodes of this HBO crime drama are currently accessible on HBO Max. Rewatch them as we wait for the fourth episode next week.
