On their stressful ride with each other, Tom and Robbie have a conversation, which changes the relationship between them. As a former priest, Tom refers to vagrant birds, which are an allegory of the lost souls in search of a home. This metaphor relates to Robbie, who finds similarities in his life.
The conversation turns out to be a turning point as both men have to face their decisions and the chances of transformation.
The cliffhanger ending of Task Episode 5
The episode ends with a dramatic stand-off by a stream in the forest with guns at the ready and feelings on high. Tom begs Robbie to give up, but tension is building. There is a black shot just before a shot is fired, which leaves the result in the air. This cliffhanger not only intensifies the suspense but also shows how fragile the choices of people are.
