Taxi Driver Season 3 Episodes 5-6 recap: The Rainbow Taxi team takes on a case from the past

Taxi Driver Season 3 is back with yet another intriguing episode for the season. It cannot be denied that the fast pace with which the characters navigate through the situations truly depicts that this series is making an impact on the minds of the viewers. After the events of Episode 4 in Taxi Driver Season 3, the Rainbow Taxi team is on to the next case. However, this case is quite significant, especially because of its relation to the past.

The Rainbow Taxi team takes on a case from the past in Taxi Driver Season 3, Episodes 5 and 6

Taxi Driver Season 3, Episode 5, brings forth an intense storyline. It starts with a lighthearted depiction of the Rainbow Taxi team spending time at an orphanage. This episode of Taxi Driver Season 3 progresses, showing Seong-cheol getting a call from an unknown person.

Seong-cheol does not understand. It is then revealed that the caller is Dong-su. Dong-su tells him that they are supposed to meet Dong-nim at the prison. Seong-cheol rushes to the correctional service place to meet Dong-su. However, he is not able to find anyone. It can be understood that he is immensely stressed by the situation. Seong-cheol then calls Go-eun. He asks her to find the details about the phone number with which Dong-su called.

Go-eun then tells him that the phone number was from a payphone. Dong-su asks her to find out if there are any nursing homes nearby that have a payphone. Go-eun confirms that there is a nursing home nearby. Seong-cheol reaches the nursing home right away.

At the nursing home, he finds out that Dong-su. He is suffering from Alzheimer's. His condition deteriorated after an accident. Seong-cheol then takes Dong-su’s notebook. In the notebook, he sees his entries about his life.

As this episode in Taxi Driver Season 3 progresses, Do-gi, along with the other members of Rainbow Taxi, asks Seong-cheol about the issue. He then begins to tell the reason he started this service. It was Dong-su and the lack of justice he faced that caused him to start this journey. Dong-su’s son was wrongly accused fifteen years ago. As Dong-su’s son’s body was not found, Dong-hyeon did not get any serious punishment for his crimes.

Devastated by the situation, Dong-su decides to end his life. However, he is about to jump to his death; Seong-cheol saves him. He then tells Dong-su that they will get revenge for his son together. The two of them began to meet weekly to dive deep into Min-ho’s case.

However, they face multiple setbacks. As they go through the evidence, they come across a video where they find that Dong-hyeon was not alone on that day. The two of them plan to meet Im Dong-hyeon after he is released to speak to him. Seong-cheol kept on waiting for Dong-su to come.

After that day, he could not find Dong-su. He finally got to reach out to him after he called him after fifteen years. As the fifth episode of Taxi Driver Season 3 comes to an end, the team decides to reopen the case. They want to find out the identity of the third person. Do-gi then goes to meet Im Dong-hyeon.

He takes him to a funeral home. Do-gi follows him inside the funeral home to find out that it was a cover. The funeral home is actually being used as a gambling den. The third person who was in the locker room while Dong-su’s son was being attacked was Seong-uk.

The sixth episode of Taxi Driver Season 3 continues the investigation of Dong-su’s case. Dong-hyeon keeps asking Seong-uk if he buried Min-ho properly. Hearing this, Seong-su laughs it off and then angrily asks if he should bury him, too. Do-gi hears this whole conversation. Though they are slowly making progress in the case, it is time-sensitive.

Dong-su is losing his lucidity, so they need to act before he is unable to speak anymore. The next day, Do-gi goes to the funeral home to act as a gambler to get closer to Dong-hyeon. However, he is not able to enter, as there are camera detectors inside. Choi Gyeong-gu decides to go to a gambling location where Dong-hyeon plays. Dong-hyeon, however, leaves before Do-gi and Choi-hyeon are able to find anything related to the case.

Dong-hyeon then returns to the gym. It is then revealed through Go-eun’s intervention that there is a secret room inside the gym. To find out more about this room, Do-gi and Gyeong-gu return to the gambling den, waiting for Dong-hyeon to fall prey to the new trap that they now have set up. Dong-hyeon falls right into their trap when he puts his gym as collateral in the bet. He loses the game, making Do-gi the owner of the gym.

This gives the Rainbow team the opportunity to find the secret room inside the gym and install cameras. Through the cameras, they find out about the secret room. Do-gi enters the secret room to find out that it is a room filled with multiple computers and devices.

It is yet another gambling setup that is related to betting on sports. Dong-hyeon was fixing matches along with Seong-uk. This episode of Taxi Driver season 3 ends with a grim note, especially in bringing forth new revelations about the case.
