Ted Lasso, the Apple TV+ sports comedy developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly, released its most recent season in 2023. It was renewed for a fourth season in March 2025.
The show follows Ted Lasso (played by Jason Sudeikis), an American college football coach who now has to coach an English soccer team. Not only are these uncharted waters, but the team's owner strangely hopes the team fails due to Lasso's inexperience. But Ted turns the game around, shocking both the owner and audience.
In March 2025, the show was renewed for a fourth season, and Apple has just released the first look at season four as production begins in Kansas City and will also move to London soon.
Ted Lasso season four is in production
The third season ended on quite a cliffhanger. Ted returned to America to spend more time with his son, and Rebecca sold off a chunk of the team. In an interesting twist, Kelly pitched an AFC Richmond Women's Team to Rebecca.
Thus, it makes sense why season four is filming in Kansas City, as we know Ted will spend some time in the USA before he considers returning to London. Ted Lasso season four is in production, and Apple has shared the first look at season four.
The video features characters Leslie Higgins, Rebecca Welton, Keely Jones, and Ted Lasso sitting at a diner table together, enjoying a meal. The video's caption states,
"We're not in Richmond anymore. Ted Lasso season 4 is now in production."
As the caption suggests, the characters featured in the video are likely in America, visiting Ted and trying to convince him to return to Richmond.
In season four, Jason Sudeikis returns as Ted Lasso, Hannah Waddingham returns as Rebecca Welton, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, and Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins.

Some other actors are joining the cast as well. According to Variety, Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely are joining the cast of Ted Lasso for season four. Grant Feely will be playing Ted's son, Henry Lasso, but the roles of other new cast members are being kept secret.
As Apple TV+'s press release states, star, co-creator, and executive producer Jason Sudeikis spoke about season four, saying,
"As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap,’"
He continued,
“in season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
According to Variety, season four of the show has the following logline:
"Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”
Thus, Ted will return to Richmond, but this time, to coach a completely new team. No information about when Ted Lasso season four will be released is available yet. The first three seasons of the show are streaming on Apple TV+.
