The season opened with Tony and Ziva operating from different regions, but almost undercover. But soon, they were reunited as powerful threats came their way and the duo was seen picking up where they left things years back.

After a series of events that strengthened their chemistry, season 1 came to an end. But there were no cliffhangers. In fact, Tony & Ziva's story ended on a conclusive note where audiences were not looking for answers. Rather, they were admiring the two.

But again, fans could never get enough of their favorite shows and hope for their renewal. But this time, it wasn't happening.

The reason for the cancellation was not disclosed.

Paramount+ still has other popular shows from the NCIS franchise running, such as NCIS: Sydney Season 3 and CBS’s NCIS: Origins Season 2.

To consider the bigger picture, NCIS: Tony & Ziva had run its course and gave fans one of the much-awaited reunions of the on-screen duo. The absence of the second season does not leave the audience confused or unsettled. Moreover, they are ready to let go with a smile!
