"That's how we do business": Members Only: Palm Beach star Maria explains why pickleball is central to their scene

Members Only: Palm Beach Episode 1 saw Maria and Ro-mina spending time together while practicing pickleball.

After sports activities, the two sat down and had a chat about society, how Ro-mina felt about rules, and more. In her private confession, Maria spoke about how important pickleball was in the Palm Beach society. She noted that learning pickleball was very important as it was related to business, and also from social aspects:

"Learning pickleball in the Palm Beach social scene is very important because that's how we do business, socially. This is what they do. They pickleball. So it's important. It's how you connect with other people."

The recently released Members Only: Palm Beach Episode 1 saw Maria and Ro-mina discussing how the latter really felt. They were at a sports club for pickleball. The two had an instructor helping them learn how to play.

While Maria got the hang of it, Ro-mina struggled a bit. Seeing her, Maria couldn't contain her laughter. Ro-mina said:

"I told you I'm not good with games where balls fly at me!"

Maria noted that pickleball was for those who couldn't play tennis. She also confessed that it was important for members of Palm Beach. The reason was that it was how they could connect with other people.

Soon, the two were done with their game practice. Members Only: Palm Beach star Maria shared that she felt as if she had already pulled a muscle. They sat down and had a chat about their presence at such places and how they could get invited to events. Maria said:

"This is socialite social life. This is how you get invited to events, you know, 'cause it's not just showing up at night at Mar-a-Lago or whatever. It's like, in Palm Beach, it is work and play at the same time. It is the only place, probably, in the entire country where work and play are always fused into each other."

Ro-mina shared that in her neighborhood, everyone plays tennis 24/7. Maria asked her about her Red, White, and Vogue event. Ro-mina noted that Rosalyn felt that she was too loud. She talked about feeling as if she were constantly under surveillance.

Members Only: Palm Beach star said that she had to continuously remind herself not to do this and not to say that. She talked about dressing in a certain way, not talking loudly, and other things. Ro-mina added:

"You know, it's all these don'ts, and I hate don'ts. Like, I've always been the rule-breaker."

Maria said that she was also similar. Ro-mina responded that it was very hard for her. But she was trying. She talked about getting life lessons from every single person.

In her private confessional, Ro-mina shared her honest feelings. She felt as if everyone was trying to be her mentor. She noted that Rosalyn's rules were different than Maria's rules, and her rules were different from Hilary's rules.
