Gold Rush: White Water released a new episode this week. The diving crew, along with the Hurt family, are now stationed at a river where they shall extract gold from the down below.

However, the river's current is too high for the divers to safely enter and extract the mineral. Thus, with the magic of engineering, the crew has decided to take on another task.

The show's host explains how they have decided to build a brick wall. They say,

"To protect the divers from the full force of thousands of gallons a second of White Water, they will build a wall of rocks above the dive hole to the centre of the creek. Slowing the water will slow both divers to reach again, for double the gold."

The crew explains that they are just trying to slow down the white water, but will never stop it in any case. As seen on Gold Rush, the flow of the water is too high for the divers to go inside and retrieve gold.

Thus, they start working on throwing the rocks in the river to build a foundation for the wall they have intended. Noting the developments made by the crew, Carlos Miner expressed,

"Right there, that's our money maker. This is how we make a living. It is very important that we find gold because this is not a hobby. That's our future."

Gold Rush: White Water - The crew builds a wall at the creek to extract gold

The Gold Rush franchise has seen the crew dive deep into some dangerous locations, and this episode was no exception to that. Any normal diver would be afraid to go deep within the White Water rivers, but not the Hurt family. They have found a creative way to slow the flow of the water and send their divers in.

The crew uses a pulley system to lift big rocks to lower them into the river. This would give it a foundation on top of which the rest of them threw smaller rocks. Soon, the wall was built, and the flow was considerably lowered.

"Oh, he slowed it down big time, dude. Heck yeah!" remarked Carlos.

However, it was seen that another challenge stands tall for them. The crew was unable to see it all before because of the high water level, but now that it has gone down, it is seen that a big boulder sits right in the middle of their creek. This will make it tougher for the divers to secure the gold from beneath. The host explains,

"Constructing a wall has lowered the water level and revealed a massive boulder blocking them from the gold below.

In another segment on this Gold Rush: White Water episode, it was seen that Paul and Wes were heading towards the creek when the engine of their boat failed.

Wes tried to navigate the vessel as it started drifting onto the water, but soon fell inside. As for Paul, he is still on the boat but is going along the flow and has informed Dustin through a radio.

Gold Rush: White Water episodes are released weekly on Discovery at 8 PM Eastern Time on Fridays. New episodes can be streamed online later via Discovery Plus.
