The Accident Season 2 Episode 5 recap: Lupe is responsible for Rodri's death

What happened in The Accident season 2 episode 5?

Alex is struggling with his conscience and apologizes to Salome before heading to Tamara's place. He is confronted by Lupe, who justifies Charro's abuse and insists that he deserves prison. Alex is disturbed by how Lupe doesn't seem remorseful about the death of an innocent man, Moncho.

Alex's words hit Lupe, and she goes through a public breakdown as she sees a children's bouncy house and becomes hysterical about saving the kids. She eventually then violently destroys the house, depicting her mental state and dangerous impulsivity.

Meanwhile, at Tamara's house, Alex learns about a different family of Charros while he coldly rationalizes it, claiming that loving multiple people is normal. Alex then meets Chelita, Charro's young daughter. Chelita seems just like Gabito to Alex, equally innocent and of his age when Alex had lost him. Despite the emotional pain, Alex connects with her, deepening his internal conflict.

Emiliano and Ulises meet. However, underneath, Emiliano is secretly stalling him so Pompeyo could hack Ulises' phone. They discover some messages linking Lupe with the death of Moncho, further strengthening the case against her.

The show features a quieter subplot with Fabian evaluating Paula. Doctors confirm that she is mentally and physically fine, while Daniela later tells Paula that Rodri always wanted the family to live their life and to move on. This gives some peace to Daniela, who was struggling with he guilt of not being able to save Rodri.

How does The Accident season 2 episode 5 end?

Javier finally returns home, and Brenda is trying to make their relationship alive again in The Accident. Brenda recalls Mateo trying to keep Javier emotionally close to her and to highlight how he has always been there. She also invited Cayetana, making her see that she is still central in Javier's life, while Javier finds himself stuck between his past and present.

The same night, Lucia tells Daniela that Lupe is actually responsible for Rodri's death. Daniela then tells Emiliano, and together they plan to use Alex's testimony and Ulises' messages to arrest Lupe.

However, the twist comes when they are stopped by Santos, who tells them how they obtained the phone evidence illegally. This further delays justice. Tamara is seen sleeping with Charro while celebrating the land deal. She also reminds him to work as they planned. Alex catches Tamara, Charro, and Dynamite leaving with arms and ammunition. Alex panics and begs Charro not to kill Lupe. Charro coldly reassures him that Ulises is the real target, accusing him of betrayal.

As tensions peak, Lupe, Ulises, and Tamara arrive at the meeting location, unaware of what’s coming. At the same time, Emiliano abandons protocol and drives toward Ulises, determined to act before it is too late. The episode ends on a chilling note when Charro arrives at the site and calmly greets Lupe, signaling an imminent and violent confrontation.
