The network has described the series as dark, suspenseful, and psychological.

The Beast in Me ending explained

In the story, Aggie Wiggs, played by Claire Danes, is a writer who once wrote a book about her complicated father and now can't finish her next one while still grieving her young son, Cooper, taken by a driver named Teddy who got away without punishment. Her quiet, lonely life is filled with anger and sorrow as she faces writer's block. In the series, Aggie Wiggs is a strong yet wounded woman.

However, the story takes a turn when Nile Jarvis, played by Matthew Rhys, enters the story as her neighbor. Nile was with Madison, who was trying to expose the drug business he ran with Pedro. However, Madison eventually gets killed by her husband, Nile, in the series.

Later on, Jarvis decided to marry Nina. However, the murder allegations didn't go away. To overcome them, they moved to Oyster Bay under his father's watch, trying to protect their real estate project.

At the time of his move, everyone knew he was connected to his missing wife's mysterious disappearance. Aggie can't stop being curious about his strange world. Their biggest challenge came from Olivia Benitez, who was leading protests against Jarvis Yards.

Amidst this, Aggie is also warned by an FBI agent, Brian Abbott, to maintain a distance.

Brian is the same agent who is investigating Nile's wife's case in the series. The story takes another turn when Teddy, the man who caused Aggie's son's death, suddenly goes missing. To find answers, Aggie agrees to write Nile's story to revive her career and bring to light his secrets.

From a TV series perspective, The Beast in Me has a strong cast, and the actors have done a great job bringing their characters to life. The story has some tense and interesting moments, like when Aggie struggles with the loss of her son or when Teddy, her son's supposed killer, suddenly goes missing, leaving the audience curious about what will happen next.

At the same time, some plot points in The Beast in Me feel a bit slow or confusing, and not every twist lands as expected. Overall, it's a good watch if you like suspense mixed with personal drama.

Speaking of the show The Beast in Me, the showrunner, Howard Gordon, said:

"I think it also has that element, as you’ve said, of The Shining. I mean, just because Aggie is an author, what is she really writing? There's the story within the story, and you know, the unreliable narrator of that. We get that kind of claustrophobia as well and the kind of menace that feels familiar."

The Beast in Me is now streaming on Netflix.
