The Believers Season 2: Plot, cast, and more

In The Believers Season 2, the three friends and business partners are revealed to be entangled in a major corruption deal involving a local politician named Ae. According to Netflix, the synopsis of Season 2 of the crime thriller reads:

"The trio of modern-day merit-makers - Win, Game, and Dear- find themselves drawn back into the world they tried to leave behind. Under the command of Ae, a powerful local politician whose ambitions straddle the spiritual and the corrupt, they are forced to take part in a new 'Mega Merit Project.'"

In Season 2, the trio, who began their criminal activities to pay off their debt and used people's faith for it in Season 1, will be seen in a tricky situation when Ae comes into the scene and escalates the scale of the corruption. She will be seen trying to make a redevelopment plan regarding Nong Khal Temple. However, that's not actually what she wants. The redevelopment program will actually be the front for all her criminal activities, including money laundering and several other schemes.

As a result, the three friends will find themselves in trouble not just because the scale is bigger but also due to their lives being in danger. While talking to Netflix, director Wattanapong Wongwan shared:

"The Believers 2 tells the story of a group of people who try to play with the system, but ultimately, the system strikes back. We continue to keep Buddhism as the central theme, but expand the story into local politics. These two worlds - religion and politics - share the same instruments of power used to sway people’s hearts."

For Season 2 of The Believers, the main cast of Teeradon Supapunpinyo, Achiraya Nitibhon, and Pachara Chirathivat will return, along with Manutsanun Phanlerdwongsakul and Paopetch Charoensook, and several others.
