When The Boys premiered on Prime Video in 2019, it quickly rose to prominence owing to the uncensored violence, its biting satirical take on the genre, and the attack on almost all aspects of culture. Since then, it has continued to grow into a flagship show for Prime Video and expanded with multiple spin-offs as well.

Now, The Boys is winding up with its central conflict between Billy Butcher and The Homelander in the upcoming fifth and final season, but the universe that it has spearheaded is far from over. If things and viewership numbers go as Gen V creator Eric Kripke hopes they do, he has a lot of plans for the universe through multiple spin-offs.

Gen V is in the midst of airing its second season currently, which will set up the final season of the flagship show. According to Kripke, even when The Boys concludes with the fifth season, they have exciting plans for Gen V Season 3. He revealed that Season 5 will turn the universe into the "wild west," where anything goes, so finding the Gen V kids in the midst of that would be an exciting venture for the third season.

However, whether they get to bring those plans to life or not solely depends on the viewership numbers for the second season.

"Without spoiling anything, I think the universe post-“The Boys” Season 5 is such a fascinating universe, there’s a lot to explore. It’s so much more of the wild west in terms of, like, f-king anything goes - without giving anything away. And I think that would be a blast to put the “Gen V” kids in the middle of."

Another spin-off, Vought Rising, which is currently in production, has been greenlit for the first season, and Kripke revealed that he has exciting plans for another season if they're renewed. The Boys: Mexico is also in the development stage, and the pilot script is being written. However, there's no confirmation that it will be greenlit.

"They’ve been nothing but supportive, and they’re giving us our opportunities. But it’s a business and we also have to deliver. So hopefully the audience shows up."

He went on to add that while he has always received a lot of support from Prime Video, it is, at the end of the day, a business venture that needs to show results to justify more seasons.
