The Boys Season 5 finally has a release date - here's all about it

The Boys Season 5 will stream on Prime Video from April 08, 2026. The makers confirmed the release date of the final season at the CCXP Brazil panel on Saturday. Consisting of eight episodes, will kick off with a two-episode premiere. The makers also released the two-minute teaser trailer for the upcoming season.

It seems that the gang has set aside their differences and come together to bring down Homelander's fascist regime in The Boys Season 5.

What do we know about The Boys Season 5?

The teaser begins with a wide shot of the main characters walking in a mysterious, bloody open area. Then we see a shot of people being hurled into the "freedom camps". These camps are filled with Homelander's opponents, where they are forced to wear gray tops with the American flag on their backs. We get a shot of Hughie inside one of these camps.

However, it seems that his and other protagonists' incarceration might not be for long, as we soon see Hughie, Annie, MM, Frenchie, and Kimiko reunite. Moreover, the gang has collaborated with Billy Butcher as he prepares them for a bloody war in which they might not survive.

"In the fifth and final season, it’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp.” Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen."

The Boys Season 5: What do we know?

The final season paints a grim and challenging season for the heroes than the previous four seasons. Every season between The Boys Seasons 2 to 4 saw Homelander and Butcher's team reach a stalemate, where both sides lost and won in some respects. But the fourth one saw Homelander come to the top.

Homelander's ally, Sister Sage, managed to manipulate the situation around Victoria Neuman's death in the psychotic supe's favor by blaming his opponents. He effectively became the de facto ruler of the US, even if he wasn't the president, and upon gaining power, he rounded up his opponents. Only Butcher, Annie, and A-Train are out of Homelander's clutches.

Now, it seems that we know what the wider world looks like thanks to The Boys Season 5 teaser trailer. Gen V Season 2 was limited to Godolkin University, as the series is limited to the campus. But now, we have a glimpse of the world under Homalander's grip. April couldn't come any sooner, as the countdown has begun towards the final season of The Boys.

Unlike the previous four seasons, the fifth one will have a two-episode premiere on April 08, 2026. The official press release confirmed this:

"Season Five of the multi-Emmy Award-winning The Boys will premiere on April 8, 2026, with two episodes, followed by a new episode each week, culminating in the unforgettable, epic series finale on May 20, 2026. The season will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide."
