Ahead of the release of The Boys Season 5, Jensen Ackles has teased some exciting tidbits about the upcoming season.

And guess what? The final season is set to raise the bar from its previous installment. Expect thrilling action sequences and a storyline that will leave you speechless. Jensen Ackles plays Soldier Boy in The Boys and is set to return for Season 5.

The Supernatural star revealed how the shock value was such in one of the sequences that he had to walk out, take a moment to analyze his thoughts, and then resume filming. Ackles explained (via Fangasm),

"I walk in to the scene.. Soldier Boy and I turn the corner and I go Oh my God, that wasn't my line. And I just walked back out. They were like, 'Uhh... cut', and I was like, 'I'm sorry... I wasn't prepared for that... and I don't think anybody else will be either.'"

However, the actor has not teased any further details about the sequence, leaving the viewers to speculate about the possibilities. However, one thing is clear that the sequence will include Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy.

Additionally, Ackles is also set to return in The Boys prequel series, Vought Rising, which will track down the origins of his character, Soldier Boy. Apart from that, there's also a possibility of further seasons of Gen V and a new spin-off series, The Boys: Mexico is in development.

What does Jensen Ackles' statement mean for The Boys Season 5?

Jensen Ackles' revelation about The Boys Season 5 says more than it seems. When an actor known for portraying dark roles admits a scene is too disturbing to handle, it signals one thing: The Boys Season 5 is not backing off.

If The Boys has built its name on shock, satire, and blood-soaked spectacle, Ackles' comments hint that the final season won't just top that, it'll detonate it. Beyond the gore, Ackles' words also tease emotional fallout. Soldier Boy remains a wild card, unpredictable, too powerful, too broken, and yet tied to Homelander's twisted legacy.

Speaking on Sony's Creator to Creator podcast about filming The Boys Season 5, showrunner Eric Kripke revealed,

"I'm in a fair amount of terror about a series finale. You can count one maybe two hands of the truly great series finale. You could have the greatest show for years but if you stiff that ending and that's what sending everybody out in the parking lot, they go, 'Maybe that show wasn't that good."

Eric further added that it's important for a series finale to tie loose ends together and deliver an emotional and satisfying plot.

Ackles' reaction isn't just a tease; it's a warning. The Boys has always thrived on discomfort, and Season 5 sounds like it's about to take it on a whole new level.

At present, we do not have an exact release date for The Boys Season 5, but according to speculations, it is set to return in late 2026 or early 2027.
