The Boys star teases an exciting Supernatural trio reunion in Season 5

The Boys is also hosting a huge Supernatural reunion in its fifth and final season. It is an excellent surprise to fans of both shows, that is a nostalgia treat, and not merely an Easter egg.

In a recent interview, Laz Alonso, the actor portraying Mother’s Milk, hinted that The Boys Season 5 will feature a reunion of the original trio of Supernatural characters: Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins.

And they entered immensely humble, said Alonso, and the reunion was emotional to the cast itself.

The headline of the new season is one of the most thrilling articles that Laz Alonso has announced about the upcoming season of The Boys as the Supernatural trio is joining the show. When talking of the reunion, Alonso revealed that the returning stars were down to earth, implying that despite their legacy, the atmosphere at work was down to earth and cooperative. In an interview with Collider, he said:

“They came in super humble, they came in super like, ‘We're not coming in like, hey we're the Supernatural guys move over, go grab a coffee.’ No, they were so kind, so humble, so giving like, ‘This you guys' world. Thank you for having us in your world now,’ and they were amazing actors to work with.”

Season 4 concluded with enormous tension: Homelander gained a violent cult, Starlight was on the run, and Billy Butcher was forced to fight time and conscience. The reawakening of Soldier Boy in the last scenes had left behind a dangerous power vacuum.

Introducing Padalecki and Collins into that mess can be considered a nod to the idea of a greater connection between the universe- one that both The Boys and Supernatural will likely begin to play with sooner or later, in regards to themes of brotherhood, corruption, and loyalty. The reunion also reveals that Kripke enjoys satisfying long-time audiences with his ability to unite worlds, stories, and feelings throughout his productions.

The crossover has long been hinted at by showrunner and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, who says the crossover was a dream waiting to come true. Jensen Ackles has already appeared as Soldier Boy in Season 3, and both of his castmates Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins are already confirmed to appear in Season 5, the first time the three beloved characters will be together on screen since the Supernatural series finished in 2020.

Reports also indicate that the reunion will not be fan service. Rather, their appearances will be mixed in with the greater political and emotional interests of the tale.

Erin Moriarty plays the role of Starlight, who is the heart of the resistance that is defending the truth.

Laz Alonso (Mothers Milk), Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko), Tomer Capone (Frenchie) and Chace Crawford (The Deep) still provide the emotional intensity and dark humor. Jensen Ackles reprising his role as Soldier Boy and the additions of Supernatural heavy-hitters Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins on the roster mean Season 5 will be equal parts nostalgia, violence, and fraternity, which is a good send-off to one of the boldest shows on Prime Video.
