The Boys is a storm of a series. It shows us what power and ego can do and gives us broken people who happen to be heroes. It also shows what happens when those who are supposed to protect us turn into the very thing we should fear. At the center of it is Billy Butcher. He is a man consumed by rage and loss. His hatred for Homelander comes from something more personal and painful. It comes from what Homelander did to his wife, Becca.
In The Boys, it is shown that years ago, Becca worked with Vought and met Homelander at a party where she even introduced her husband, Billy Butcher, to him. Thereafter, what happened to her was tragic. Homelander s*xually assaulted her days after, and then she became pregnant. Vought could have helped her, but they didn't. They chose to cover everything up. They hid Becca and the child to protect their image.
Butcher was told she had died. When the truth comes out, it changes everything he thought he knew about his wife, their past, and the kind of world they were living in.
The Boys: The truth about Becca and Homelander’s son

In The Boys, the twist comes when Becca is revealed to be alive. She had been living in a secret facility where she was raising her son, Ryan. Becca’s only mission was to keep Ryan safe from Vought and from Homelander himself. She knew what kind of danger her son could be in if he fell under his father’s influence.
The entire world believed she had disappeared or that she was dead. When Homelander finally finds out the truth, his obsession takes over. He sees Ryan as a chance to prove he can be a real father and not just a lab-made superhero. But Becca sees Ryan as someone innocent who should never be dragged into Homelander’s world.
Homelander visits Ryan with Stormfront, and they convince the child to come with them. They tell him that he belongs with them because they are like him. Becca is terrified when they take Ryan away. She goes straight to Billy Butcher and tells him everything. Butcher doesn’t waste a second. He gathers The Boys. Before the confrontation, he tells Becca to stay safe and leave with the others in a car.
But things go wrong. Stormfront finds them and lifts the car high and throws it aside. Luckily, no one is hurt. The Boys, along with Starlight, fight Stormfront. But she is too powerful. Soon, Becca, Ryan, and Butcher are running through a forest. Stormfront is furious and unstoppable. She hits Butcher with one of her lightning bolts, and that throws him hard against a tree. He struggles to get up. Stormfront turns on Becca as she tries to take Ryan away.
Becca stabs Stormfront with a knife in her left eye. Stormfront screams in pain. She pulls the knife out and grabs Becca by the throat. Her rage takes over as she strangles Becca. Ryan cries and begs her to stop. But she doesn’t listen. Butcher gets up and tries to beat her off. He tries hitting her again and again. But she doesn’t even flinch. That is when Ryan’s fear turns into anger. His eyes glow red, and he releases his heat vision for the first time.
Everything goes quiet. Stormfront is on the ground. She is badly burned, and her limbs are destroyed. Then Ryan starts apologizing to his mother. Butcher turns to Becca and sees her leaning against a tree with blood pouring from her neck. He runs to her, shouting for help. But there is no one around. Becca bled to death. But before she dies, she tells Butcher to protect Ryan, no matter what.
The Boys shows us that the line between hero and monster is thin. Through Becca, Butcher, and Homelander, the series reflects pain, revenge, and what power does to people when there’s no one strong enough to stop them.
