HBO's latest comedy thriller series The Chair Company released its third episode titled "@BrownDerbyHistoricVids Little bit of Hollywood? Okayyy'' on October 26.

Episode 3 continues to blur the line between psychological horror and absurdist comedy by tightening its grip on Ron’s unraveling sanity. What began as a simple case of workplace paranoia has evolved into a full-blown descent into mistrust and fear, where every strange encounter seems to confirm Ron’s worst suspicions.

The recent episode began with Episode 2's cliffhanger, where Ron received a threatening message from someone in his closet. It turns out that the man in the closet was LJ, a spy left by Mike to keep an eye on Ron. LJ mixed Mike and Ron's burner phone numbers and sent Ron's picture and the message to him (instead of Mike).

While LJ was a red herring, The Chair Company Episode 3 kept its focus on Ron’s mental spiral. His reactions illustrate how the supposed “villainy” around him might actually be a reflection of his inner chaos.

Here is the complete The Chair Company Episode 3 recap.

LJ might be harmless, but it drives Ron to the edge and he gets paranoid. The deepening Tecca conspiracy (paired with LJ's confusion) forces Ron to realise his worst fears and he decides to invest in an expensive security system for his house. Elsewhere, Mike's sleuthing skills pay off and he manages to track down his ex-employer, Jim X. Mike tells Ron that Jim X was hired by somebody for $50,000 to ask Mike to scare Ron off.

Since this was a dead end, Ron continues his search for Tecca's office. He learns that chair Company records can only be requested in person, following which, he pays a visit to the county clerk’s office. Ron cunningly uses Douglas' name and manages to secure the records of Tecca's deeds, named under 'RBMG, Inc.' Mike proves his sleuthing skills once again and tracks down Steven Droyco, the man who asked for the deed before Ron.

The Chair Company Episode 3 recap: Steven's search takes a horrific turn

Steven Droyco seems a promising lead in The Chair Company Episode 3 and Ron manages to track the man's house. However, as soon as Mike and Ron mention Tecca, Steven gets agitated and flees the scene. This confirmed the duo's suspicions that Tecca is a shady company and Steven is certainly in on its secret. Since they were already at Steven's house, Ron decides to pursue the lead and breaks into his home, which was nothing short of a haunted mansion from the inside.

Steven's house was lined with filthy garbage, unwashed dishes and dirty linen. Just when Ron and Mike thought their search could not get more horrific, they see Steven's 'dead' mother on the couch. They later learn that the elderly and senile woman faked her own death because she owed a hefty amount of money to her sister. Ron and Mike quickly grab some important papers from Steven's house and make a run from his haunted mansion.

The Chair Company Episode 3 recap: Was Ron able to catch Steven?

Ron's quick thinking worked its magic in The Chair Company Episode 3 and he was able to track Steven. The man was searching for his papers and revealed that he is a former Tecca employee, who worked there for only four days. Steven was asked to replace parts of chairs with other parts while 'in the nude'.

The final moments of The Chair Company Episode 3 saw Ron get a security alert on his phone about an abandoned Tecca chair at his doorstep. What's even worse is that Ron sees a hooded figure in a hockey mask sitting on the chair and shaking his head like a maniac. Just as the man looks in the camera, Ron screams 'Jason' and the episode concludes on this mysterious cliffhanger.
