The Chi Season 7 Episode 10 recap: Detective Toussaint misses Reg and Emmett deals with a personal crisis

The Chi Season 7 Episode 10 titled, "Tha Block Is Hot" picked up from where the previous episode ended. As per Rotten Tomatoes, the official synopsis of the episode reads,

“A harsh reality forces Emmett to reevaluate what's truly important; Pastor Zeke throws a block party to put the guns down, bringing him closer to Carolyn; meanwhile, Alicia tries to strike a deal with Detective Toussaint.”

In The Chi Season 7 Episode 10 Detective Toussaint, with help from Hannibal and Nuck, almost nabs Reg but ultimately misses him as it turns out that he has played the police.

Detective Toussaint fails to catch Reg in The Chi Season 7 Episode 10

As Detective Toussaint is determined to catch Reg, she plans an operation with help from Nuck and Hannibal. The detective finds out that Reg is planning another robbery with Jackie and decides to catch Reg when he tries to flee the scene.

The robbery that Detective Toussaint was tipped about does take place, but when she catches the thieves and unmasks them, it turns out that they are two completely different people, with no sign of Jackie or Reg.

Detective Toussaint has once more failed to catch Reg. It is then revealed that the tip she had received came from Hannibal who informed Nuck who then told the Detective. She soon realized that Reg might have given the wrong address intentionally as he was already suspicious of being followed.

The detective's failure to capture Reg in The Chi Season 7 Episode 10 will have serious consequences as he might now have figures out that Hannibal is working as a police informant.

Emmett gets a gift from his mother in The Chi Season 7 Episode 10

Things are quite stressful for Emmett in The Chi Season 7 Episode 10. After he was shot in the previous episode, he is not only recovering from that shock but is also coming to terms with the fact that his mother, Jada, has cancer for which she has refused treatment.

This means it is only a matter of time before she passes away. Accepting this is extremely difficult for Emmett as he loves Jada a lot, as he expresses to his father in this episode.

Jada tries to make things easier for Emmett as she gives him her engagement ring, which she hopes that he can give to Kiesha someday, when she accepts his proposal. It was shown in the previous episode that Emmett had proposed to Kiesha after coming out of his coma but she did not say anything in response.
