The official synopsis of The Chi, season 7 episode 2, as per IMDb, reads:

"Tiff finds an unlikely partner in Victor - and a more unlikely connection with Nuck. Jake exposes his affair with Tatiana, triggering a scandal."

After Zay’s Sacrificial Death, the community is in the process of re-evaluating their priorities or backing off from the violent or chaotic actions that defined earlier episodes. Alicia, a powerful but dangerous matriarch figure, is thrilled by Tiff's pregnancy as the child could be her potential heir. She invites Tiff to move in, signalling protection and privilege — but also control.

Living with Alicia becomes difficult as she micromanages Tiff's health, likely obsessing over everything from what she eats to how she spends her time. She includes Tiff in the family business despite her being pregnant, showing her desperation to have a business heir and continue the family legacy.

This changes Tiff's life overnight as she has been given major responsibilities, leading to new relationships, alliances, and even conflicts. With Bianca gone, there is a power vacuum in Alicia’s operations, and she trusts Tiff with a cigar shop and lounge, which suggests her trust in her capability and loyalty to handle critical areas in the business. Tiff thrives in the business.

On the other hand, Emmett and Keisha are now feeling the strain of parenthood, beginning to clash with their professional or personal goals. Jake’s carelessness exposed serious secrets about Pastor Ezekiel and his wife Tatiana, possibly scandals that could shake the community or church. His relationship with Tatiana becomes public. Their relationship is complicated from the start. Tatiana wanted something discreet and controlled, while Jake became more emotionally involved. While Kenya, Zay's girlfriend, moves with her grandmother after losing Zay, to overcome that grief.

Ahead in the episode, Tiff brought Victor, a longtime character with deep ties to the community and various players, to help run the business. This suggests that Tiff is smart about delegation of work and building alliances. Will Victor be an asset for the business, or will he be futile? Only the upcoming episode could tell.

Tierra and Marcus's relationship was built on stability, and both characters have been emotional anchors for each other. Despite their “ideal” relationship, they face a core incompatibility as their future goals don’t align.

Tierra wants to be a mother and has reached a point where it has started to feel essential for her identity and happiness, while Marcus is done with parenthood. He is already Gemma's father and doesn't desire to parent another kid. His refusal isn't selfish but stems from a clearer understanding of his limits. Both characters are firm in their beliefs, which leads to their breakup, but with maturity and respect.
