The storyline of The Couple Next Door Season 2
The show is known for exploring the theme of humans turning their deepest desires into reality and getting into trouble because of that. The new season again builds on this theme. It follows a husband and wife couple, Jacob and Charlotte.
Jacob is an anaesthetist and Charlotte is a heart surgeon. The two doctors’ lives are turned upside down when a mysterious colleague named Mia enters the scene. Around the same time, Charlotte’s ex, Leo, reenters her life. As love and passion overpower the four individuals, romantic boundaries are blurred. The official synopsis of the season reads:
“Brilliant heart surgeon, Charlotte Roberts, and her husband, consultant anaesthetist Jacob take centre stage, alongside their mysterious new colleague Mia and Charlotte’s old flame Leo. Leo’s return sparks a change in Charlotte and Mia seizes the opportunity to work her way into Jacob and Charlotte’s confidence, their street, and eventually even their bed, befriending cul-de-sac outcast, Alan along the way.”
“But it’s not long before Mia’s past comes back to haunt her, leading Charlotte and Jacob to question who she really is, especially when patients at the hospital start mysteriously dying. One thing is clear - giving in to their desires could have deadly consequences.”
