Shudder's found footage horror series, The Creep Tapes Season 2, is here.

Episode 1, titled Joseph, dropped on November 14, 2025, and it redefines Peachfuzz's horror.

The episode explores Peachfuzz from a new vantage point, shifting him from an unpredictable menace to a deeply strategic serial killer who studies, tests, and adapts. The genre remains the same, but the pacing feels more controlled. Every frame is deliberate. Every pause feels like a threat.

Here's what happened in The Creep Tapes Season 2 premiere episode.

The Creep Tapes Season 2 Episode 1 recap: Meet Peachfuzz's copycat

The episode opens with Peachfuzz entering a cottage's basement, where we see a guy held hostage. He's injured and tied up, and his face is covered, too. Peachfuzz uses a voice modulator and creepily praises the victim for not attempting to escape. He then takes his axe and chops his head off. He then steps toward the camera and removes his mask.

Turns out, someone is trying to mimic Peachfuzz, and this killer isn't the OG Peachfuzz. What happens next is truly fascinating yet creepy. Peachfuzz's copycat is Joseph, played by David Dastmalchian. The video of the fake Peachfuzz reaches the OG, and turns out imitation is not enough to earn a seat at the predator's table.

The episode uses this idea to tear down any romanticisation of serial killer fascination. It shows how imitation can lead to delusion and how delusion becomes fatal.

We then see Peachfuzz arrive at a house after receiving an offer to record a personal video (much like the 2014 Creeps movie). It reminds him of the way he once approached his own victims. He finds the person waiting for him right outside the cottage, and it's none other than Joseph. This man tries to act like Peachfuzz, speak like him, and even repeat his tricks. He believes he can reach the same level of fear and control that Peachfuzz is known for.

Peachfuzz doesn't react immediately. Instead, he observes quietly, studying him. It feels like he is grading a performance. The copycat tries familiar steps, like emotional stories and forced bonding, but he falters. Peachfuzz notices every mistake and responds with calm and cold confidence. After a strange bathtub scene, Peachfuzz gulps down a glass of liquid, knowing fully well what can happen next.

The situation slowly turns into a psychological battle. Both men want to prove who has the upper hand. The copycat, aka Joseph, needs approval, while Peachfuzz intends to test how far he will go.

Things take a dark turn when Peachfuzz is drugged and taken to the basement. It feels like the copycat might have won, but Peachfuzz uses his manipulation skills and reverses the situation. He swiftly unties himself. He points out the flaws in the man's behaviour and makes him lose his confidence.

By the end, the copycat breaks down and chooses to take his own life. Peachfuzz walks away unharmed, proving once again that no one can replace him, copy him, or even match his terrifying control.

The energy between Peachfuzz and the new character is the core of the episode. Their exchanges aren't written as hero-villain banter. They function like rival predators. One has experience, ease, and terrifying patience. The other has ambition, nerves, and blind confidence.

The way this episode of The Creep Tapes Season 2 handles body language, silence, and tone is impressive. Even without constant violence, the episode keeps you hooked to the end.
