The Crow Girl has finally arrived on screens in the US and Canada after a wait of eight months. The first episode of the psychological crime thriller premiered on Acorn TV on September 8, 2025.

The show had already aired in Britain on Paramount+ in January this year. An adaptation of Erik Axl Sund’s eponymous novel series, the program tells the story of a Detective Chief Inspector and a psychotherapist who team up to track down a serial killer.

The Crow Girl is set to feature six episodes. The first episode, She Sees Herself from Above, aired in the US and Canada on Acorn TV on September 8, 2025. While the show is following a weekly broadcast schedule in the US and Canada, all episodes were released at once in the UK on Paramount+ on January 16, 2025. Meanwhile, the series has already been renewed for a second season, which is currently in development.

The series is based on Erik Axl Sund’s novel The Crow Girl, which was launched in 2010. It follows DCI Jeanette Kilburn, who is working on the murder cases of young men, along with DI Lou Stanley. She is helped by Dr. Sophia Craven, a psychotherapist who provides insights into the psyche of criminals. The official synopsis of the series reads:

“DCI Jeanette Kilburn and partner DI Lou Stanley hunt the killer of young men. The investigation leads Jeanette to eminent psychotherapist Dr. Sophia Craven, who provides her with vital information about a suspect. When Jeanette uncovers the body of a missing child, she finds herself hunting the mysterious Victoria.”

The show stars Eve Myles as DCI Jeanette Kilburn, Katherine Kelly as Dr Sophia Craven, Dougray Scott as DI Lou Stanley, Clara Rugaard as Victoria Burkeman, Victoria Hamilton as Superintendent Verity Pound, Trevor White as Carl Lowry, Elliot Edusah as DC Mike Dilliston, and Lee Boardman as David White.

The rest of the cast includes Chloe Sweetlove as Madeleine Burkeman, Roger Nsengiyumva as Amar, Ashling O'Shea as Ursula Wilson, Lauren Morais as Charlie, Basel Osman as Jamal, Michael Lumsden as Ben Burkeman, and Raphael Sowole as Alex Kilburn. The show has been written by Milly Thomas and directed by Charles Martin and Rebecca Rycroft.
