The storyline of The Dead Girls
The show uses drama and dark humor to tell the story of the Baladro sisters, who rise from small-time hustlers to powerful owners of a large prostitution business in 1960s Mexico.
Their greed, corruption, and cruelty turn their empire into a nightmare that leaves many people dead. The series chronicles the crimes of the two sisters and portrays the broken society around them. The official logline of the show reads:
“In the style of a journalistic reportage, the series tells the story of pimping sisters María del Jesús and Delfina González Valenzuela, aka “the Poquianchis” (or the Baladro sisters in the book). Their case shocked Mexico in the 1960s and made them part of our country’s great dark legend.”
