Netflix has officially released the soundtrack for The Dead Girls (Las Muertas), the Mexican Netflix original series that premiered on September 10, 2025. The album features original compositions by Fernando Velázquez, the Spanish composer best known for The Impossible, The Orphanage, A Monster Calls, and Crimson Peak.
His work on this project consists of themes that reflect the rise and fall of the Baladro sisters as they build their brothel empire in 1960s Mexico. The soundtrack is available now for streaming and download on Amazon Music, as well as on all major digital platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
The series, directed and co-written by Luis Estrada, stars Paulina Gaitán, Arcelia Ramírez, Joaquín Cosío, Alfonso Herrera, and more. Based on Jorge Ibargüengoitia’s novel, the show’s dramatic subject matter is elevated by Velázquez’s music, which ties together the period setting and the psychological weight of the characters’ actions.

The Dead Girls recap

The Dead Girls opens in 1960 Mezcala, where a prostitute is murdered. Four years later, brothel madam Serafina targets her ex-lover Simon by burning down his bakery, leading to their arrest. In prison, both recount conflicting versions of their past. Simon claims he was forced to dispose of the murdered girl’s body, while Serafina insists she shaped his life before he abandoned her in Veracruz.
The Dead Girls Episode 2 shifts focus to Arcangela, who begins running Mexico Lindo in the 1930s after taking it from a debtor. She transforms it into a brothel and later partners with Serafina and Captain Bedoya to expand near an army base. Their largest venture, Casino del Danzon, opens in 1961 but collapses when Governor Cabañas enforces a morality law banning brothels.
The Dead Girls Episode 3 follows Arcangela’s son, Beto. His troubled past leads him into drug trafficking, attracting federal investigators. Despite his mother’s warnings, he pursues a romance with Conchita, angering her brothers. After serenading her drunkenly, he is shot and dies. Authorities seize on his death to close Mexico Lindo, forcing the sisters to relocate to their casino and eventually buy a ranch.
The Dead Girls Episode 4 centers on Blanca, once Mexico Lindo’s most popular worker. A failed abortion leaves her paralyzed, and she later dies after a desperate treatment. The sisters secretly bury her, but suspicions rise. When Evelia and Feliza steal her gold teeth and die in a fall, Serafina considers Bedoya’s advice to abandon brothels and rely on the ranch, signaling the sisters’ decline.
