The Dream Life of Mr. Kim, the newest K-drama, which is already making quite the noise amongst the netizens for its unique concept, recently dropped its first two episodes. The first two episodes were enough to set the stage for the upcoming drama that will be happening in the lives of the characters in The Dream Life of Mr. Kim.
A striking aspect of this series is how it navigates through the day-to-day lives of the characters in a realistic manner. The tension, trouble, and worries of each and every aspect of our daily lives are highlighted through the storyline. The third and fourth episodes of the series will be dropping on November 1 and 2, respectively.

The Dream Life of Mr. Kim Episodes 3 and 4 will be airing on JTBC. The series will be taking the 10:40 PM KST time slot. Streaming will be available on the global streaming giant, Netflix. The very talented Ryu Seung-ryong takes on the role of Kim Nak-su. Myung Se-bin's performance as Park Ha-jin is also quite impressive. Park Ha-jin is Nak-su’s wife.
She often tries to keep her husband happy, but impressing Nak-su is not an easy task. She often gets a condescending attitude from Nak-su, which crumbles her self-worth. With only two episodes, Cha Kang-yoon’s performance as Nak-su’s son, Kim Soo-gyeom, steals the show. The manner in which Kim Soo-gyeom speaks to his father about his dissatisfaction leaves us thinking about how often parents overlook their children’s happiness while focusing on their image in society.
In the second episode of The Dream Life of Mr. Kim, we see how the arrogant attitude of Nak-su eventually leads him to a path of complication. He ends up putting his position at the office in jeopardy after Tae-hwan attempts to end his life. Nak-su initially did not want to get involved with Tae-hwan. However, after he sees Tae-hwan’s situation, he rethinks his choices. He begins to feel guilty about his actions.
Along with it, he is also asked by his boss to fix the issue with Tae-hwan. This further complicates things. It is also revealed that someone needs to eventually take up Tae-hwan’s position, and Nak-su’s boss’s indications are towards sending off Nak-su. At the end of the episode, we see Nak-su finally getting himself in trouble with his family as well. Due to a mistake with the reservation, Nak-su chooses to falsely accuse the receptionist of a mistake that he made.
His son is extremely disappointed with his father’s behavior. When Nak-su’s son tries to speak to him about the job at the startup, Nak-su begins to berate him about his choices. He wants his son to follow the path he chose. Nak-su’s behavior towards his wife when she speaks up about giving the real estate exam also shows how he does not prioritize his wife’s wishes.
It can be understood that the upcoming episodes will bring some tumultuous situations for Nak-su. He already struggles with his insecurity. His jealousy about others' achievements keeps creating distance. The first two episodes of The Dream Life of Mr. Kim depicted the humbling experiences that Nak-su goes through. The upcoming episodes will be moving into a more dangerous path.
