The Dream Life of Mr. Kim follows the life of Kim Nak-su, a man who thought he was leading the dream life after more than two decades of working corporate jobs. When setbacks began to disrupt Mr. Kim's dream life, he tried his hardest to save all that he had worked for.

The previous episode showed Mr. Kim doing everything to maintain his position and respect from those around him. He even went so far as to manipulate and outsmart his colleagues to try to keep his reputation and position at the same time.

Unfortunately, his career was already damaged beyond repair, and Mr. Kim would end up demoted from his position. Not only this, but his actions also caused great damage to ACT's reputation in the corporate world.

The drama will continue in episode 5 on November 8, followed by episode 6 on November 9, 2025, on JTBC for local viewers. The same episodes will be released on Netflix for the international audience.

So far, the K-drama has received positive feedback from viewers, as it also sheds light on how the corporate world actually is. It's not just about Mr. Kim facing the harsh reality, but also about how office politics impact people.

What happened in The Dream Life of Mr. Kim episode 4: A quick recap

In Episode 4 of The Dream Life of Mr. Kim, Nak-su's arrogance and fear of failure contribute to his downfall. It starts out in the past, where Jeong-tae and Nak-su used to work together as salesmen. He once helped Jeong-tae work on his speaking skills, but Jeong-tae quickly improved, and Nak-su began to feel jealous.

In the present, Nak-su can see his job disappearing, and he turns to his lazy friend Nompaengi for advice. Nompaengi reminds him how loyalty means very little in the corporate world. At home, Ha-jin is studying for her real estate exam, marking a bet with her sister Ha-yeong for teasing her that she hopes to pass.

Meanwhile, Nak-su is getting more desperate and tries to win his team over with food and false promises of promotions to get support. He then goes on a trip with Sung-gu and talks about his loneliness. Little did Nak-su know that Sung-gu was secretly recording him.

As the episode nears its end, Nak-su is shocked to learn that he has been demoted to a safety role. This was something he had been worrying about, and the nightmare has come true.

What to expect from The Dream Life of Mr. Kim episode 5?

Episode 5 of The Dream Life of Mr. Kim will see him working at the factory level. Since he was a top-level manager, things are quite tough for Nak-su, especially to accept the fact that he has made reckless choices in life.

The episode will also feature the guest role of Jung Eun-chae, the beloved actress whom fans have seen in K-dramas like Pachinko, The King: Eternal Monarch, and more. She will appear as one of the workers at the factory, encouraging Nak-su to keep moving forward while the sales team struggles without him.
