JTBC's upcoming slice-of-life K-drama The Dream Life of Mr. Kim is directed by Cho Hyun-tak, known for The Atypical Family and Snowdrop. The upcoming series is an adaptation of Song Hui Gu's novel The Story of Manager Kim.

JTBC's latest K-drama will begin airing two weekly episodes from October 25 and will also be available on Netflix for International audiences.

The Dream Life of Mr. Kim follows the downfall of a middle-aged corporate manager and salesman who has worked at a big corporation for 25 years. However, after tragedy strikes and he suddenly loses his job, he is forced to take on a journey of self-discovery and forge an individual identity beyond his corporate one.

The Dream Life of Mr. Kim: Release and streaming details

The Dream Life of Mr. Kim will begin airing episodes from October 25, 2025. New episodes will exclusively drop in South Korea on JTBC every Saturday at 22:40 (KST) and Sunday at 22:30 (KST).

However, International fans need not worry as Netflix has already acquired the licensing rights for JTBC's upcoming K-drama. The streaming juggernaut has shown keen interest in expanding its K-drama library and the platform is placing its bet on JTBC's next.

According to What's On Netflix, starting from October 25, 2025, the K-drama will be released every Saturday and Sunday on Netflix internationally. The series will reportedly have 12 episodes and will release two weekly episodes till the series finale on November 30.


What is the plot for The Dream Life of Mr. Kim?

Manager Kim is admired for his remarkable sales skills, a talent that has consistently earned him every promotion in his corporate career. Outside of work, Kim is a happy family man who lives in a large apartment with his wife and son, enjoying an enviable personal and professional life.

However, with time, Manager Kim is losing his spark both at home and work, which forces him to question his capabilities and discover himself beyond his family and work. We catch the titular character at a low point in his life in The Dream Life of Mr. Kim, where he is no longer defined by his job as a salesman.

The K-drama will feature a heartwarming tale of self-discovery and survival, balanced with both laugh-out-loud and tearjerker moments. JTBC is known for its wholesome and heartwarming K-dramas and this latest entry seems to be a promising one.


Who is in the cast for The Dream Life of Mr. Kim?

The Dream Life of Mr. Kim is led by South Korean actor Ryu Seung-ryong, who will play the titular character of Kim Nak-soo. Seung Ryong is best known for his roles in Disney+'s action sci-fi K-drama Moving and Netflix's historical dystopian K-drama Kingdom. He has also displayed his acting talent in films Miracle in Cell No. 7 and 20th Century Girl.

The additional main cast for the K-drama includes Myung Se-bin as Park Ha-jin and Cha Kang-yoon as Kim Soo-gyeom. Se-bin is a popular South Korean actress who starred in Netflix’s 2023 medical K-drama Doctor Cha. She is also famous for her roles in First Love Again and Missing Crown Prince.

Kang-yoon is a rising South Korean actor who gained recognition with his recent supporting role in Netflix's medical K-drama Resident Playbook, a spin-off of Hospital Playlist. The actor has previously starred in The Art of Negotiation and Head Over Heels.
