The Muppet Show team has finally treated us to a preview of what they have been up to after years of speculation and fan wish-lists, and yes, it is typical Muppet chaos. This long-established, iconic variety show of the 1970s is officially back, but with some big names on board.

The Muppet Show revival teaser has been released online, and it is a delightful experience of revisiting the well-known Muppet Theatre, produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Point Grey Pictures, along with Disney. It has all the familiar faces, like Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, and Gonzo, who all promise a lot of music, jokes, and unforeseen adventures.

It is not a mere throwback. The project will be a part of a bigger event that will be launched next year on ABC and Disney+ in honor of the 50th anniversary of the original show.

What does The Muppet Show teaser show?

Watching The Muppet Show revival teaser is like turning on an ancient television set and stumbling across a song one has heard a thousand times before, yet finds a new glossy finish each time. The energy of the Muppets is restored in a few seconds, Kermit is making preparations backstage, and the famous curtain is brimming with anticipation.

Certainly, one of the most fun aspects of The Muppet Show revival is watching the original characters come to life with the same puppeteers whom audiences have already come to adore. The likes of Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and Gonzo will all make an appearance courtesy of familiar faces in the industry such as Dave Goelz, Bill Barretta, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman, and Matt Vogel, who have been associated with the characters for years, if not decades.

The preview does not spoil the plot, but it reveals what the viewers adore most: stupid jokes, musical anarchy, and that homely, comfortable feeling that only the Muppets can offer. It is nice to see them all together again, but there is also an unmistakable promise of something new in the recent The Muppet Show teaser. It is a pleasant meeting with old friends, cozy, entertaining, and heart-warming.

Who will be taking to the stage with the Muppets? The special guest for this event-style The Muppet Show revival that will bring some extra celebrity glamour to the classic lineup is pop singer and actor Sabrina Carpenter.

It’s produced by none other than Seth Rogen, and one would definitely assume his fun and somewhat unorganized style of humor will mesh perfectly with the wackiness of the Muppets themselves.

According to reports, the special is not only a celebration but may also mark the beginning of more episodes if the public reaction is good. The revival is set to premiere on February 4, 2026, on the ABC channel and the Disney+ platform.

Whether that leads to a full series or stays as a one-time event, the teaser has already accomplished what it was supposed to do, and that is to excite and make people laugh and hum that iconic Muppet theme song once again.
