Jay's situation at the end of Ghosts season 4
The fourth season of the series began with Sam and Jay focusing on their goal to increase their business. However, before they could achieve success, things began to get complicated when Jay forgot to read the fine print of his contract with his publicist. It is revealed at the end of the fourth season that the publicist that Jay signed up with is indeed “evil". It is none other than Elias Woodstone posing as a human being to reap souls.
Through the contract Jay signed with him, he now has the ability to reap his soul and send him to hell. When Elias arrives at the book launch after Jay is getting congratulated for his restaurant by the food editor. Elias reveals his true intentions with Jay, which shocks him. Elias then drops the chandelier on top of Jay, which Jay evades at the last moment.
It can be understood that Elias will not be making Jay’s life easy. This episode also brings forth the blossoming of romance between Alberta and Pete. At the beginning of the last episode of the fourth season, Alberta reveals her true feelings about Pete.
She admits that Pete was the man she needed in her life. Now she regrets not revealing her true feelings to Pete sooner. During the book launch event, Patience felt the presence of evil in the barn for which she tried to ruin the event. To distract her, the ghosts ask her to check the house for evil. When Patience enters the house, Patience tries to keep her occupied so that she does not return to the barn.
Patience, then, begins a shaming ceremony because of Alberta’s impure thoughts when Pete arrives at the scene. On hearing Alberta’s words, Pete quickly leaves the room. Alberta misunderstood the situation. It turns out, Pete ran away to end things with Donna. The two of them then share a kiss. The kiss marks a milestone that begins the transformation of Pete and Alberta's relationship from friendship to romance.

After Jay hears about Elias Woodstone’s desire to kill him, he gets scared of every little thing in the house. It can be understood that the upcoming season will delve into the dangers that Jay will be facing because of Elias. It can be expected that Alberta and Pete’s blossoming relationship will also be a major focus in the upcoming season of Ghosts.
The stage is all set for the blossoming of new storylines. Just like the previous seasons, it can be expected that this upcoming season will also seamlessly connect the cliffhangers with the storyline.
The “precarious” situation with Jay and Elias will be handled in a distinct manner in the upcoming season, as explained by showrunner Joe Port. Sam and the ghosts will also have a hard time getting Jay out of the dangerous situation with Elias.
