The Great British Bake Off 2024 kicked off season 15 on Channel 4 on September 24 at 8 pm ET. The British baking show was then released on Netflix on September 27. This season the popular baking show invited 12 home bakers to participate in the legendary baking battle to win a whopping prize money and title of Great British Baker.
The Great British Bake Off welcomed home bakers from different walks of life, some being just 18-year-old college pursuing students, to 67-year-old Former University Lecturer. The show has released two episodes so far on the channel and witnessed two bakers already bidding their farewell to the show already. As each week comes with a different baking face-off, week 2 of The Great British Baker Off had a Biscuit challenge ahead for bakers.
Sumayah won the star baker in episode 2 of The Great British Bake Off, while Hazel had to say goodbye to the rest of the bakers in the tent. Jeff, a 67-year-old Former University Professor had to withdraw because of his failing health. Let us have a look at the lineup for season 15 of The Great British Bake Off 2024.

Andy
Andy is a 44-year-old Car Mechanic from Essex and believes his family and baking are the two inspirations for his life. He used to bake with his mother in childhood and now wants to pass on the same tradition to his daughter, Maisie.
Andy bakes for his wife, Nickie, and they occasionally engage in outdoor activities as well, when Andy is not baking.
Christiaan
Christiaan shifted to London seven years ago after pursuing fashion design in Amsterdam. He is a Menswear Designer and loves his flowers and designs. He tries to bring vibrant designs and floral scents from his garden into his baking. He loves to bake breads that according to him, are his comfort zone and remind him of his mother.
Sumayah
Sumayah is a Dentistry student, but she also possesses a keen and meticulous taste when it comes to baking. She is passionate about creating new flavors, and extraordinary designs and loves to take challenges.
She lives in Lancashire along with her family, and her interest lies in many other creative activities like sewing, and photography. She recently showed her baking prowess by creating a three-foot-long macaron tower for her aunt's wedding celebration.
Dylan
Dylan is driven by the creativity he sees around while he goes off on a journey to discover more about himself. Dylan is an avid traveler and recently he traveled to Southeast Asia to experience the culture and food.
His father is Japanese, adding his culture and influence on Dylan's baking. Additionally, his mother is Indian, thus adding spice and flavour to his culinary skills.
Georgie
Georgie is a Pediatric nurse and her passion for cooking and baking comes from her Italian roots. Georgie calls herself a cannoli connoisseur and possesses a keen interest in her tableware and crockery sets.
She lives with her husband and daughters and has a farmhouse in Wales with ten chickens, two ducks, two dogs, and a cat.
Gill
For Gill, baking is another way of connecting with her late father, who cherished lemon meringue pie. Gill finds comfort in baking and the money that she earns is donated towards charitable work for Alzheimer's patients.
She has been baking since a very young age and has a strong childhood memory of pies, cakes, and pastries while growing up.
Hazel
Former nail technician, Hazel is 71 years old, and she loves to bake for her family, full of children and grandchildren.
Hazel is very creative when it comes to cake designs as she has made several car cakes that had remote control wheels. Her pass-time besides baking is playing Bingo.
Illiyin
Illiyin caught interest in Baking when she used to bake with her mother in her childhood. Soon, she gathered the experience to become a favorite person to be baking cakes for her family members.
She loves combining different cuisines and cultural influences from the field of cooking and creating something unique. She loves using Middle Eastern ingredients in her food and goes for Caribbean flavors when baking savory dishes.
Jeff
Jeff is a former University Lecturer and is very active in sports. He met her wife while hitchhiking across the Americas. He was also a sports coach for summer camp.
He started baking when his kids were little and took inspiration from his grandmother and great-grandmother. Now that very basic baking has converted into Jeff's biggest passion, along with his sports activities.
John
John is a Directorate support manager and started baking as a pass-time in his leisurely activities. He got his baking skills from his grandmother, and after she passed away, he started baking with his heart and soul to honor her memory.
For John, the best kind of baking is combining classic bakes with twists, and he finds his creative juices flowing when doing so.
Nelly
Nelly is a Palliative care assistant, and her family which consists of her husband and two boys are her biggest cheerleaders. She is completely a self-taught baker and was inspired by his dad, who had a knack for baking bread.
Although he did not venture into baking sweet dishes, Nelly started practicing her hand at sweet bakes after trying her neighbours's gingerbread recipe.
Mike
Mike has been awarded with a very prestigious farmer's recognition, the 2024 National Arable and Grassland Award. He is the fourth generation in his family who is working on his forefathers' farmlands.
He is a supporter of LGBTQ+ and is also planning his upcoming wedding with his partner Matt, where he will put the flower decorations grown by him. He believes in a homely and simple baking style and demonstrates the same in his baking.
