Netflix's latest Colombian thriller series, The Guest, ended on an explosive note that unearthed many secrets about Sonia and Lorenzo's relationship. The series follows a married couple, Silvia and Lorenzo, who were going through a rough patch in their marriage because of Lorenzo's infidelity. In the show's ending, Lorenzo's private investigator, Ramiro, finally reveals that Sonia is actually a serial offender with a history of mental illness named Rocio Torres. She destroyed all the evidence pointing to her former identity and adopted a different identity.

Silvia finally realized that Sonia's true motive was always getting her way with Lorenzo. The two were childhood friends, and Sonia deeply loved Silvia's husband, but he never reciprocated. After her mother's death, Sonia grew disillusioned and created an imaginary accomplice named Libardo in her head. In The Guest finale, Sonia kidnapped both Silvia and Isabella and revealed that she would set the house on fire with Libardo's help.

In the finale, Lorenzo managed to uncover Sonia and Pete's secret hideout and headed there to save his family. After killing Pete, he reached Sonia and saw that Silvia and Isabella were tied to a chair. He begged Sonia to kill him instead and let his family go, but Sonia wanted him to experience the ultimate pain. She also took this opportunity to reveal her true identity to Lorenzo and how he took advantage of her when she genuinely loved him.

Something changes in Sonia, and she says that she would forgive him and let his family go only if Lorenzo would apologize and build a new life with her. However, her imaginary friend Libardo warns her not to trust Lorenzo, but her feelings get the best of her, and she enters into a physical fight with Libardo. In reality, all this was going on inside Sonia's head, and she was vaguely kicking in the air. Lorenzo took full advantage of Sonia's mental episode and snatched the gun from her.

He shot Sonia and proceeded to untie his daughter. However, The Guest finale took a grave turn when Sonia got up and was ready to fight the family again. But Silvia rescued Lorenzo in time and shot Sonia. The trio escaped from the burning house, leaving Sonia inside.

While Silvia, Lorenzo, and Isabella managed to get out of the burning house and escape Sonia in The Guest finale, the final shot revealed that the house was empty. This suggests that Sonia likely gained consciousness and slipped out of the house, setting the stage for Season 2.
