The American drama series, The Hunting Wives, premiered on July 21, 2025, on Netflix, and quickly became a hit among viewers. The series revolves around a group of women who are part of a rich elite club called Hunting Wives. It follows how the death of a young girl in the Texas community affects the lives of the women and brings out secrets about them to light.

The Netflix series depicts a twisty tale of betrayal and manipulation. It has numerous scenes of alcohol and drug use, use of violence, and s*xual content, to tell the tale. Therefore, the show is not suitable for kids to watch. As per IMDb, The Hunting Wives has a TV-MA rating, meaning the Netflix series is specifically made for adults only.

The Hunting Wives follows the story of Brittany Snow's Sophie, who relocates to a new town in East Texas. There she meets the Texas gubernatorial candidate, Jed Banks's wife, Margo. While falling for the woman, Sophie finds herself at the centre of a tragedy that happens in the town. She is accused of killing a young girl and is isolated by everyone.

While looking for the real culprit, Sophie learns more about Margo and how she has been betraying her and even taking the fall for her. Throughout the series, numerous moments are not suitable for kids to watch, hence the TV-MA rating.

First and foremost, The Hunting Wives features numerous s*xual scenes between the characters and also features n*dity, due to which the Netflix series is not suitable for kids to watch. The explicit s*xual scenes and themes that revolve around adult relationships make it unwatchable for kids.

Other than that, it also has scenes depicting heavy consumption of drugs and alcohol, which is another reason the show is exclusively made for adults.

Furthermore, profanity is another reason not to let kids watch this series. The characters often resort to using offensive or inappropriate words. The derogatory terms used in the Netflix drama series are not suitable for kids, and hence, they should not be allowed to watch the series.

There are also mild depictions of violence and the use of weapons such as guns. It also depicts the current political scenario, which needs context to understand, which might be difficult for kids to get into.

Apart from the United States, where the drama series has a TV-MA rating, The Hunting Wives has a rating of 18+ in Turkiye and R21 in Singapore. This suggests that the show is specifically made for adult viewers.

Other than Brittany Snow, the series also stars Malin Akerman, who plays Margo, Katie Lowes as Jill, Evan Jonigkeit as Sophie's husband, Dermot Mulroney as Jed Banks, Margo's husband, and Chrissy Metz as Starr. After a successful Season 1, the Netflix series is now renewed for a Season 2, where we will get to see if Sophie and Margo snitch on each other or help each other out in the cases they are involved.
