The Institute drops you right into a world of mystery and danger. The show is not devoid of shocking moments either. It is based on Stephen King’s story of the same name, and has been slowly revealing what's behind the secretive facility. Gifted kids are trapped, being experimented on and exploited to the core. With every episode, the stakes keep getting higher and the danger keeps getting messier. The adults in charge of the facility also keep proving they’re the last people you should trust.
Episode 6 left us gasping. Luke made a daring escape, Tim found him at the Red Steps, and together they found out a harsh truth. Luke’s been framed for murdering his own parents. Then there was Kate who was pretending all this while, Maureen’s tragic fate, and a flash drive that could expose everything. This is a perfect setup for an intense new chapter. Oh, and thanks to hotel owner Norbert ratting them out, The Institute isn’t done hunting Tim and Luke.
Now, Episode 7 is right around the corner, and it’s promising an even wilder storyline. The official synopsis teases Luke and Tim scrambling for help while Ms. Sigsby throws every trick in her sinister playbook at them. After all that mess we’ve just seen, there’s no way this is going to be a calmer episode. Not in The Institute, and definitely not when Sigsby’s involved.
The Institute Episode 7: Release date, time and streaming details
Season 1, Episode 7 will be released on Sunday, August 17.
The first season premiered on Sunday, July 13, with the first two episodes dropping together. Since then, new episodes have been arriving weekly on MGM+.

What to expect from Episode 7
If Episode 6 was all about getting out, Episode 7 looks like it’s going to be about staying out and that’s going to be harder than ever. Luke and Tim are now on the run, desperate to find someone they can actually trust.
But with Sigsby pulling every string she can reach, there’s no telling who might be an enemy in disguise. That flash drive is still in play, and you can bet the facility will stop at nothing to get it back before the truth gets out.
